Quick Quotes
Q. Nico, 4-under today, pretty solid round, especially with the conditions. Are you pretty pleased with where it ended up?
NICO ECHAVARRIA: Yeah, I'm pretty happy. Started with a bogey, wasn't a great start. Number 1 didn't look good at all, but I managed. Tried to stay cool out there. I think it's huge to not show a lot of emotions, good or bad, with how hot it is. You can waste a lot of energy.
Overall the day was very, very positive for me.
Q. I think it was a five-hole stretch, I want to say 6 through 10, birdies all across the board. What was working through that stretch?
NICO ECHAVARRIA: Hitting good shots and making a few long putts. The putts on 9 and 10 were big, and the other birdies were fairly close.
Q. Making a push now not only to go to the BMW next week but also TOUR Championship in Atlanta, what does that mean for you in your career?
NICO ECHAVARRIA: It would be huge. To guarantee all the majors -- there's a lot of good things from making the TOUR Championship. Overall the year has been very positive, and that would make it even better.
Q. Hitting twice as many greens as you did yesterday, what was the biggest difference for you in that area?
NICO ECHAVARRIA: I found something in the range yesterday, that from this grass for me I consider myself a little steep, the club face tends to shut a lot, and I hit a lot of shots to the left yesterday. I worked on that yesterday on the range, and today was a lot better with the irons.
Q. You mentioned on the course with the heat you try not to show much of emotion. What's the recovery process like with this humidity out here?
NICO ECHAVARRIA: Yeah, go see physio, get a massage, go in the cold plunge for five, ten minutes, and just rest.
