Quick Quotes
Q. All right, joining us after the second round of the 2026 The Standard Portland Classic is Sophia Schubert. Sophia, another great round. Can you just talk about what feels to be coming together this week?
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Yeah, I mean, it's just been a solid week for me so far. I had five or six weeks off at home leading up to this, and I worked really hard. Worked on my putting because that's what I need to work on.
It's just really been clicking, making putts, so it's been good so far.
Q. You've had kind of an up-and-down season.
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Uh-huh.
Q. Can you just talk a bit about how putting together two really strong rounds like this gives you the confidence to be ready to be out here competing?
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Yeah, I've missed quite a few cuts by one this year, so it's been tough on the confidence. I mean, it's been good and bad. I look at it two ways.
If I make some more putts I'm right there, but I haven't been. So I really grinded this last five, six weeks, so being able to just put two really good rounds together has been great for my confidence so far.
Q. Only one bogey through 36 holes. Can you just talk a little bit about how you're minimizing mistakes? Didn't really seem to be any one part of your stats that's sticking out specifically.
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Yeah, it's been good. I've been hitting a lot of fairways. Out here that's key I feel like. Tree-lined; you got to hit some fairways to be able to go to the greens.
But, yeah, so hitting a lot of fairways, hitting a lot of greens, two putting. My one bogey was a three-putt.
But just minimizing that.
Q. And then heading into the weekend you've gotten yourself into a great spot. What are you going to be focused on and is this a spot that you're comfortable?
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Yeah, I mean, it's fun. This is where I want to be. It's not necessarily comfortable. Being at the top is hard, but it's where everybody wants to be.
So I'm proud of myself to get to that point, but I think me and my caddie are just -- our main thing going forward is just having fun and giving it my best and whatever happens, happens.
Q. And then last one: Portland is very much a fun city that we stop in. Great for women's sports. Great food scene. Have you done any exploring or anything sticking out to you about this stop?
SOPHIA SCHUBERT: I love Portland. I haven't been anywhere yet. Time-wise I haven't had much time. Went to the Nike store. That's always fun. Spent too much time and too much money there, but I'm hoping to explore some today.
