Q. You won 5 & 4. Talk to me about it.

ADAM BRENSU: It was great. 13 was tough. It was tough. I don't think we played our best, but I managed to win. I knew it was going to be a long day, a tough match this morning against Finn, and this afternoon also. I'm glad I made it. I played 36 holes, and I have another 36 holes tomorrow, and hopefully I will do it.

I'm so happy to be here, to be honest. I'm so happy to be here, it's unbelievable. To be the first Moroccan ever to play the U.S. Am and to make it to match play, it's unbelievable, so I'm just happy to be here.

Q. You could see your excitement out there. It was birdie, par, huge fist pump, let's go, every time. Is that to keep your self confidence-up?

ADAM BRENSU: That's the way I am in match play. Sometimes I'm not my best friend in my mind, and in match play, I just try to support my mind, just try to be my own best friend. That's who I am. Also, I know it can make mad the partner, so that's why I do it also.

Q. You go to school in Lubbock; it's not very cold there. Do you think that dry heat prepares you for a week like this where it's been hot all week?

ADAM BRENSU: You know, also growing up in Morocco, it was actually fine. It's really warm there and really humid, so I'm used to it, I'd say. Lubbock is windy and dry so we're not used to, but you can adapt, and I did it.

Q. There's a lot of talk about playing an underdog role here at the U.S. Amateur this week. There's people who embrace that. You just talked about being in Morocco and all these firsts you keep crossing off the list. How do you put into perspective what it would mean to you if you're able to continue this march into the weekend?

ADAM BRENSU: I think the main goal for me is to try to show kids in Morocco, even young people, that if I can do it, everyone can do it. We only have 34 golf courses in Morocco. There's probably more in Rhode Island, I would say. It's just to show that even if you don't have a lot of golf courses or a facility, you can still make it. I made it so there's no excuse. But mostly for the kids in Morocco, to show that we can do it.

Q. When you were growing up and playing golf, who was your inspiration, or what made you want to play golf? I'm sure there wasn't a big group of people that you were looking up to. Who inspired you?

ADAM BRENSU: My dad, he's a golf coach. I grew up in France and Morocco, so I was born in France and lived my whole life between France and Morocco, and my mom, she's Moroccan. My dad, he's a golf coach. Every day I was practicing, and then I got a new coach, his name is William, he kind of took me and coached me my whole life, and then he's still my coach now. I think that's how I got into golf.

Q. What do you want to say to all your friends and family who are back home and cheering you on or anybody who's watching you from back home in Morocco and France?

ADAM BRENSU: That we can do it, for sure. We can do it.
