Q. All right, joining us after the first round of the Standard Portland Classic is Lauren Walsh. Lauren, this is your career-low round on the LPGA Tour. How is it feeling out there and what do you think you were doing particularly well?

LAUREN WALSH: I think today just everything kind of came together. My game has been feeling good for the last couple weeks. Haven't had the results to show for it, but it was just really nice to see everything come together today.

Drove it nicely, hit some nice iron shots, and held a lot of nice putts.

Q. You had a really strong finish at ShopRite a few months ago.

LAUREN WALSH: Uh-huh.

Q. How do you think that boosts your confidence mid-season?

LAUREN WALSH: Yeah, definitely gave me a big confidence boost. Bit of a weight off my shoulders kind of thing.

Then it was nice to get into a couple of majors over the summer. I really enjoyed those events and kind of my game was trending nicely. Just didn't quite get the scoring going. Couldn't get anything going for 18 holes.

But, yeah, gave me a big confidence boost and just to see things come together today was really nice.

Q. You are in your rookie season. Can you just reflect a little bit about how that's going to far and traveling all around the world playing professional golf?

LAUREN WALSH: Yeah, honestly, it's been really enjoyable, the highs and lows, everything in between. So I've really enjoyed myself out here. I've learnt a lot about myself and my game. Yeah, just kind of working on all those things to keep getting better.

I had a great experience on the LET the last two years so kind of had the travel part down. But, yeah, no, it's been nice to be playing against the best players in the world out here.

Q. Last one: Everyone has said it's really important to hit fairways out here just with the tree line. That was something you struggled with a little bit today but your score doesn't show it at all.

LAUREN WALSH: Yeah.

Q. What do you think you learned from that to take into tomorrow?

LAUREN WALSH: I think I hit a lot in the -- like a yard into the first cut, so I don't think it was quite as penal for me. Yeah, I think I must've his four or five in the first cut, so, yeah, honestly I still felt like I drove it pretty well out there. Still had nice chances coming into the green which is important here.

Yeah, if you're not hitting it in the thick stuff, you're doing okay.
