Q. You had an early 2-up lead, saw it kind of go away. What did it take to get this thing finished?

LOGAN REILLY: Yeah, match play is always a grind. I knew my opponent would never go away. He started hitting really good shots towards the back nine, but the last ten holes made a bunch of birdies. I knew he would always stay in it and never fade away. That's what I tried to do. I knew if there was holes left, then there was a chance to win, and that's basically the mentality that I had.

Q. There's been a discussion about coming down the closing stretch here if it's better to have a 1-down deficit or a 1-up lead. What do you think about that?

LOGAN REILLY: Yeah, I mean, I don't think it matters too much, as long as you have the same mentality, just play like you're 1-down almost, even if you're 1-up. I don't think there's any disadvantage or advantage, but yeah, you've just got to keep playing your game and can't think too much about the score.

Q. You've had a really big summer of golf, obviously playing in the U.S. Open, making a deep run last week. What have you learned from those experiences, and how have you brought that to this week?

LOGAN REILLY: Yeah, I've been playing good for the last couple months and just knew that a normal week of golf, just playing my same steady golf, would be pretty solid. That's what I'm trying to do. Hitting it well, and just make a couple putts and I'll be right there. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Q. The second competitive round you've had here at Merion. Are you bringing anything new to the table tomorrow?

LOGAN REILLY: Not really. Just fairways. That's really the only thing. I know if I'm in the fairway, then I'm going to have a good chance to get on the green in two and give myself a look at birdie. That's my main focus, getting in the fairway. There's a bunch of different holes here, dogleg left, dogleg right. Anything in the fairway gets you in position and makes your opponent have to follow you up.
