THE MODERATOR: Joaquín Niemann, our LIV Golf New York 2026 individual champion, congratulations.

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Thank you.

Q. Your second title of the season, this one wire to wire. You've been in here now four days in a row, but how proud are you of the consistency and the finish?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, it's definitely a different feeling being here today than the last three days. But yeah, pretty happy.

The day, the way it came out, I feel like it was a lot of fun playing out there with Harold and Lee. You know, it's a pretty tough, pretty demanding golf course where you've got to hit your tee shots, you've got to be in the fairway and then you've got to control your spin pretty good off the second shot.

I feel like I didn't have the best start. I didn't feel that comfortable. But as to how the day came out, during the day I started playing better and better, feeling more comfortable and feeling more committed, started committing to my lines, ball started going wherever I was aiming.

Yeah, that's a great feeling to have, especially coming down the stretch on how tough this golf course is. So yeah, pretty happy and proud of the way I played at the end.

Q. Can you talk about the putt at 13 and then the eagle at 15?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, amazing putt on 13, obviously. It's a pretty tough moment. I was leading by one after 12. On 13, I think it's probably the more intimidating tee shot of the golf course. I hit a great tee shot with my 3-wood, and then the pin placement, where they put it, I feel like outside the top 20 guys of the leaderboard, probably no one was going to that pin because it's pretty scary. There's no room to land it, especially how soft the greens are right now.

I was just aim to the right side of the green, left myself a putt, and yeah, it was not an easy putt for sure. I was going to be pretty happy with two putts there, and it was quite a surprise to make that one.

It's one of those that I just got to be grateful about it and just go pick it up and run. It was a big moment, and I feel like that gave me the momentum to hit the golf shots that I hit on the next two, three holes.

Q. Obviously this is your ninth tournament win. You've got just as many wins as Bryson and Rahm combined. You've battled against them for these three years. What has it meant for you to go up against them, and how much has it helped your game particularly?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, it's an honor, obviously, to play against -- play with all the field on LIV. Everybody here has a big chance to win. The competition is big.

It's definitely not easy to win anywhere.

For me, it's an honor to play with Bryson. Obviously he's a major champion, two times. I was able to play with him on Thursday. Obviously didn't play his best, but it's always nice to be around him and try to learn from everyone.

I feel like being out with Lee, as well, these last two days, he's 53 years old, and the way he manages himself on the golf course is pretty amazing, and there's a lot to learn there.

Same as Jon; I played with Jon almost every weekend for the last two years. How competitive he is, he definitely doesn't like losing, and I'm the same way as well.

It's fun. For me it's good motivation to win. I love winning. I love to come here and work my ass and try to have the best chance possible to win.

I definitely like the feeling. It's not going to last forever; it's probably going to go away in a couple hours. But I just love the pressure, love being in those moments, having a long week out here playing golf and leading the tournament since the beginning is pretty special, and I definitely enjoy it.

Q. Obviously you're in the heat of the battle for the individual title. Was there any point out there where you were checking the team standings because you guys --

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah. On 17, definitely, I missed that short putt. Yeah, I was thinking more about the team at that moment.

Obviously still needed to hit the shots, take care of my individual first. But it's not over until it's over. Definitely it sucks a little bit that I didn't make a putt on 17 and we ended up probably two, three short at the end.

Yeah, it's hard. It's four guys playing one hole at a time, and the scores, they vary every time.

Q. The president spoke to you there for a while after your victory. Just curious if you could give us a sense for what his message was or what your conversation was about.

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, it was really special to have Mr. President come in and see us. He loves golf. He definitely loves it. He loved us as well. It's very nice the way that the whole family treats us, the players, the pros, the team, the amenities they have at the golf courses, the facilities, the food, everything is amazing.

It just shows how much it matters for him to be out here, especially how busy he is. Just for me, there's a lot of appreciation to him of just having his presence here.

Q. One of the people that congratulated you after the round was Ted Goldthorpe from BC Partners. Did he address the players at all this week?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: I don't know, I was pretty focused on doing my thing. Probably a few things that I might know after a couple hours. But no, all my focus was on trying to get the ball in the hole, and that's it.

Q. Did he not speak to the players this week?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Probably he did or not, I'm not sure. I mean, obviously I feel pretty bad because Mr. President had a dinner also on Friday for us, and I couldn't attend because I was just focusing on my rest, on my recovery. That probably answers all the rest that you're asking me.

Q. Coming into today, Harold and Lee, they were right on your tail. In these fourth rounds as the leader, what is it like playing with second and third place knowing that they're right behind you and that you have to spend the entire day with them?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Well, I mean, it was a pretty fun battle with Lee and Harold. I felt like Harold had quite a momentum probably the whole day. He started two behind and he was right with me sharing the lead on probably four holes. He played pretty solid. He's a great player, great guy to be around with.

It was definitely going his way, and I felt like there was a change of momentum probably on No. 12 where he had a pretty bad lie. We hit kind of the same tee shot; he had a pretty bad lie, I had a great lie, and I think since then the momentum just changed.

Q. While you were focusing on your individual performance, your team pretty much was up the entire week and came up short in the end. Even after you win a tournament like this, do you guys talk about your team as a whole's performance and evaluate?

JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, obviously it's a tricky situation. I was definitely watching the leaderboard. As a team, we had the expectations of winning. We were leading after three days.

We knew we had a big chance to win. Obviously I was putting a lot of attention to my individual part of the tournament. We all understand how golf is. It's hard. We had three teams at the last two holes having a chance to win. In one hole, there's 12 players, so it can change pretty quick.

We all know that we are giving our absolute best to score the least shots possible. For us, that's more than enough. Then result is just the result. It didn't go our way now. Crushers did a great comeback, the same as Legion. But we were just short, and hopefully got a chance again in Indy.
