Q. Westy, that was quite a performance today. Bedminster is really a golf course that doesn't let you force the issue. How much of your patience over the last two days comes from your experience?

LEE WESTWOOD: Yeah, very much so. It's a major championship style golf course. Obviously it's a very long golf course. Everybody has said that. You've really got to just plot your way around. You break it down into small pieces. It just starts off with teeing it up and trying to get it in the fairway. This golf course is obviously much more playable from the fairway, especially for me because I don't hit it as far as the other guys.

I'm pleased with the way I've played, and delighted with the way I've putted. I'm seeing the lines and rolling the ball well, starting it right where I'm aiming a lot of the time.

Q. You certainly enjoy playing in the heat, it seems like. All your performances, you've won in Thailand, you've won in Indonesia, Malaysia, some of the hottest places on earth. What is it about the heat that brings out the best in you?

LEE WESTWOOD: I don't know. I'm 53 now, and it really needs to be hot for me to get loosened up. I don't like the cold. I'd much rather be in these conditions. Even though I look like I'm under duress, I'm actually quite enjoying it.

Q. You've begun in contention many times in your career. Do you think differently now than you did earlier in your career when in contention?

LEE WESTWOOD: Yeah, I think so. I think early in my career I put a little bit more pressure on myself, but now I'm just enjoying it. What is there not to love? I practice quite a bit but not as much as I once did. Every time I do get into contention, I really love feelings those nerves and embracing those nerves and trying to use them to my advantage.
