Q. We've seen a lot of top seeds lose early in this tournament. How might you explain that?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: I have no idea about other guys. I just played a very not good match, and I lost. So that's all I can say about me. About others, I have no idea.

Q. Is there a factor of this being just the first hard court matches, getting used to the balls?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: Maybe, but that's not an excuse. I mean, just if I want to win matches, I need to play better than what I did today.

So it's really disappointing, but again, the match is over, so nothing I can do right now.

Q. How did you feel going into the match?

DANIIL MEDVEDEV: I felt great. I had very good practices. I beat most of the guys. I think I lost like one practice set.

I was playing great, and I was playing ten times worse on the match today, which can happen, but should not if you want to win.
