A. SABALENKA/M. Uchijima
6-3, 6-3
Q. Wanted to ask, first match on hard court of this season, how would you evaluate the match today?
ARYNA SABALENKA: I'm happy with the performance. I'm happy with the fight. I knew that going into this match I might struggle a little bit after a little break, but I was ready for that. I'm happy that mentally and physically I was ready to go.
Q. Just curious how you found the conditions out there. There was some wind. Some players have mentioned over the years that sometimes it's tricky conditions. Curious how you found the conditions out there.
ARYNA SABALENKA: Oh, I love it. For me it's a great practice. I need to recover after longer rallies. I need to work on those tricky positions just so in the bigger matches I can perform at my best. I'm happy to have tricky conditions. It was a bit windy, it was a bit bouncy, kind of like tricky bounces sometimes, so I really enjoy that.
Q. Was noticing some serve and volley and dropshots tonight. How much are you focusing on that element? You're obviously known for your power from the baseline, but I'm curious how much you're focusing on that in practice.
ARYNA SABALENKA: We do it a lot. We do it a lot in practice. To be honest, right now my focus is to be back to basics and just stay simple.
I just felt it today, and I trusted myself and I went for it. We do it a lot in practice just so like whenever I feel it on court I can produce it.
Q. Finally, it's one year since you started your vlog. A year ago was your first episode.
ARYNA SABALENKA: There's already three new episodes.
Q. Three new episodes this season. With that experience of doing a vlog for your fans, what have you learned about yourself, just from the production standpoint and being involved with that?
ARYNA SABALENKA: Oh, nothing like new that I learned. But I love to share a little bit more of myself with the fans. I love to stay connected and to show little things that not always you can show on social media. So I love vlogging and I really enjoy it.
