Q. All right, Anna, great round today.

ANNA DAVIS: Thank you.

Q. Really strong back nine. Could you just talk about what was working?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, I feel like just I hit a lot of fairways, a lot of greens, which I think is super important out here, especially hitting it in the fairway.

I feel like I was just super steady. Saw a couple good putts go in. Was knocking it close.

So yeah, I think overall pretty steady consistent day.

Q. You have a couple of these under your belt now. Couple match play appearances in the Women's Am?

ANNA DAVIS: Uh-huh.

Q. Does that give a sense of confidence going into the rest of the week?

ANNA DAVIS: I think so. Like I found myself in this situation multiple times. I feel like the last like four tournaments I've played have been match play, too, so I feel like all I play is match play.

But, yeah, I feel comfortable in match play. I think it's something that I'm super used to, so still just playing my own game and seeing where it goes.

Q. Are you a player that prefers like the competitiveness of match play?

ANNA DAVIS: I think it's very different. I think it's challenging in a different way, but, I mean, I enjoy it. I'm pretty, again, just used to it.

But I think it's cool that you know you're like playing the person who is right in front of you. Doesn't matter what anybody else is doing. It's like you're playing the person right in front of you.

In that aspect it makes it a little bit more simple almost. Your thoughts are a little bit simpler. So, yeah, I think.

Q. And last one from me. Who is your caddie this week?

ANNA DAVIS: David Reynolds. He's the caddiemaster at Augusta. He's caddied for me in a couple things the last few years. All the events that I play in that require a caddie that aren't college events.

So, yeah, he's been good on the bag.

Q. How did you meet him? How did your relationship with him start?

ANNA DAVIS: I just met him at Augusta when I won. He didn't caddie for me there until last year, so he's caddied for me two years there.

But, yeah, just formed a relationship with him when I won at Augusta, so...

Q. You haven't played since Palmer Cup, right?

ANNA DAVIS: Uh-uh.

Q. So just been practicing the last month and everything?

ANNA DAVIS: Uh-huh.

Q. This is I expect your last summer being an amateur before your senior year of college. Have you allowed yourself to think about that at all, that you only have a year left and all these events are going to be your last as an am?

ANNA DAVIS: Yeah, kind of I guess it didn't really click until like maybe couple days ago. My caddie was like, this is like your last one. I'm like, damn, you're right. It's like my last chance to win one.

Yeah, it's definitely clicked, but it's okay. I've played in a lot of these. It's been I think a long time coming now, so I'm ready to play the last season of college and get on with it.

Q. What's the biggest difference when you think back to your first Women's Am to now about maybe your mentality or what you learned about this event or what you've come to enjoy about it?

ANNA DAVIS: Wow, which one was my first one? I think it was Belleair. Gosh, I don't know. I feel like I developed a lot as a player. Obviously been like three or four years, so I think developed a lot as a player and obviously I have way more match play experience now than I did.

That was probably one of like my first few match play events, so that is definitely a big difference.

Yeah, I don't know. I feel like maybe I was younger so I felt a little bit more of like an underdog, even though my name was out there.

But I did feel like I was just kind of young and I was like, whatever, like I don't care what I do. But, yeah, I think obviously developed more as a player.

Other than that, still the same competitive vibe.

Q. After you won ANWA, if you could go back with what you know about your career now, if you could go back and tell that Anna Davis something to keep you up during your down moments or teach yourself what to expect for the next few years, what do you think that would be?

ANNA DAVIS: I think just like golf comes with a lot of highs and lows, and you're not always going to feel like this is the greatest game ever. Like sometimes it's going to be like, wow, this really sucks.

But I think just being like really level headed through those moments, which I feel like I've done well. So I think, yeah, just it's not always going to be like piece of cake, you know.
