Quick Quotes

A. TABILO/B. Shelton

4-6, 7-5, 6-4

Q. Congratulations on the win tonight. Can you just talk about the match and your thoughts just about the whole match itself?

ALEJANDRO TABILO: Yeah, it was crazy, a crazy battle. Just so happy to have been able to get through it. He was playing very well, serving very well, and I didn't start off with my serve too solid.

I regrouped there in the second and had those break points to go down 5-4 in the second, but was able to get through it. I think that kind of gave me a little extra motivation, a second wind, and came out with everything. Just happy to have gotten through.

Q. What are your thoughts going into the next match playing against Rafa Jodar, everything with that?

ALEJANDRO TABILO: Yeah, it's going to be an interesting match. Especially also we're going to play him soon on Davis, so it's going to be a nice match. He's playing very well. He's had unreal results, so hopefully I can get another win and just keep going.

Q. Kind of why do you think you've been playing so well in these conditions here?

ALEJANDRO TABILO: I don't know. I think because I feel like hard for me is kind of calm. I mean, I grew up on hard. So I kind of missed it throughout the whole clay and grass season.

Just happy to be here getting good results so far. I mean, it's the first week of the series and just hopefully I can keep it going.
