AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

July 30, 2026

Charley Hull

Lancashire, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Can you sum up the day for us, how you felt the start went?

CHARLEY HULL: I was super nervous on the first tee. I was so nervous. It's even more nerve-wracking when you're having to hit an iron because you have to stripe an iron shot. When it's a driver with first tee nerves, you just don't have to quite strike it.

I was happy I made a birdie and I piped my driver up, too. I had a very awkward yardage in for my second shot and I just didn't quite trust my line and my -- the club that I chose, and three-whack there.

But I missed quite a few putts today that I felt I should have holed, but I felt like I stayed in there pretty well considering how nervous I was, because I feel there was a lot of pressure on me out there.

Q. Charley, are you aware of the reaction to your prank with Adam?

CHARLEY HULL: No. I don't have any social media on my phone.

Q. I know. But if you are, if you could sort of roll back the clock a bit, would you do it again?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, 100 percent. He thought it was funny after. He's not uptight. Like it's a joke. If people don't like it they can lump it, do you know what I mean?

I mean, like I felt bad for Adsy, but at the end of the day I just got to have a good week, and at the end of the week I'll buy him 100 scratch cards.

Q. Proper scratch cards.

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah. Hopefully he can earn more money than that as well this week if we play well.

Q. But you don't have any regrets over it?

CHARLEY HULL: No. And people that have complains about it, I would say loosen up.

Q. Do you ever read social media comments?

CHARLEY HULL: Not really. I don't really have my social media on my phone on tournament weeks. So I delete it and when I go home I'll add it again. I don't really like people seeing me and tagging me and stuff. I like to keep in the present moment.

But, yeah, I think people need to lighten up if they're taking that too seriously because it was pretty funny.
