Quick Quotes

Q. You've been Jenny's caddie for past couple events. What have you seen from her game and how proud are you of the finish?

SHANE CODD: I think the most impressive part for me has been Jenny's short game. It's been unbelievable. The vision of the shots, she doesn't just walk up and pull the club out. She analyzes it and she pulls off every shot. In conditions like this, you need a short game to keep you in it.

But also the way she handled herself the past two days with a big lead, she should be proud of how she handled herself. And today, to get off to the start we got off to and to fight back, she should be very proud of that.

Q. She talked about her ball-striking this week. What do you say about that, too?

SHANE CODD: KPMG was my first week with her, and I was impressed with the way she was hitting the ball. Unfortunately she was sick, so it didn't really reflect on the scores we had.

But then this week, you could see especially for links golf, she can flight the ball. She can move it. So yeah, it was impressive. Off of this turf, as well, she hit it really good.

Q. And on the broadcast, I saw a couple times you putting your hand on her and saying something. Can you give us an inside scoop?

SHANE CODD: It's hard when you haven't won for ten years, and just trying to keep her in the present to be honest. Like keep her where we were at that moment, not dwelling not happened or thinking ahead or lifting the trophy later on. Trying to keep her in the present all day and keep talking to her and keeping her smiling, that's basically it.

She did really well. Like under that pressure, she should be really proud of herself today.

Q. Some of the balls she hit, seems like she was going to pick up the tee real fast. You could tell the could have had.

SHANE CODD: Once she was committing to every shot she hit, she nailed it every time. So I'm really impressed.

Q. Heading into next week, seeing how her game has been, what are your thoughts for next week, how the course might compare?

SHANE CODD: This is a great warmup because I guess it's going to be firm and fast down there as well. Next week, a lot of strategy will be needed from the last time we were there, the last two times we were there. If we can keep the ball in play, and she's rolling it really good on the greens, as well. It's just links golf has taken -- you want to have bogeys out there. Just take the double bogeys out of it and then you have a chance. Looking forward to it.

Q. Have you had any messages from Madelene? What do you think she'll say after watching today? Do you think she's watching?

SHANE CODD: She's watching. She's annoying me more now than when I'm caddying for her. I'm sure she's watching. Yeah, she'll have to increase the wages if I'm going to come back with her.
