Quick Quotes
Q. You secured your place in next week's Women's Open thanks to a great performance here. Great round today, 3-under par. Just talk through today's round.
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: Actually front nine is really good. It should be better. Like I miss short putt but it's all good because overall for today, then back nine is a little bit stronger. And I don't have like any, like the second shot, like close to the pin and I can't make a birdie but it's all right because I didn't play like it's good, be like three months -- last three months, last four months because this year I'm a little bit struggle out there. I jot injury on my palm. But yeah, it's good.
Q. So you're really pleased?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: Yeah.
Q. And did you know where you were with the positions to qualify for next week?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: I had no idea.
Q. So you were just focusing on doing the best that you could?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: Because, you know, actually I'm not good play with the wind. I'm not good play with the wind. So my first year, I play this tournament, first time is in the one Ryann she won, Dumbarnie. It's the first time I play with wind and rain. In Thailand, we don't have like that. I don't know how to play.
And second year, I told myself, I can play with the kind. It's like this, I get to the next week on 18 and then I got card in LPGA and then I played bad. Them I missed a chance to play here.
Then the year after, okay, I have chance to play here, and I play bad again because I'm not good with the wind.
This year was different because there was, like, I played really bad, but after this year, like I keep missed the cut, and then I play good and I miss cut again and I play good and I miss cut again. Sometimes I feel like burnout. So when I feel burnout, I'm not happy when I play golf. Then I'm just like, whatever. I'm tired. I'm so tired, to think about that -- I'm going to cry again -- this week I'm just play it because I feel like so tired.
Q. Just from playing too much?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: Yeah, keep playing because I feel like why I cannot hit like a shot I should hit. I should hit like better than this but every time I hit, it's just like -- it's just bad shot. I don't know why it's bad shot. I'm like keep practice and keep putting and keep whatever to make me better. I play and it's good. I play and it's bad again. I play and it's good, and then it's bad again. I'm tired. I don't want to think about that thing.
This week I'm just hit it, just focus on my swing, just control it. Just like try to control myself to stay in the present because the way I just -- I want to stay in present. If I think about the future, ball is going to go right, go left, right now, just be patient because here it's windy, and you can't see like didn't hit -- a lot of players didn't hit that good on this course because wind because condition was tough.
I'm like, okay, if I'm going to miss cut again, whatever. Just play. If it's good, it's good. If it's bad, it's bad. Just let it go.
Q. How many wins have you had on the LPGA?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: Two. So I think that's why I expect it should be better.
So my first year, I was like, I can do it. So this year was different from the first year because I'm first year like I don't have experience about that. But this year, I played the course, I played before. It's not the first time and I expect myself, it should be better. I cannot have like excuse at all.
I have caddie, he always like talk to me and he always like gets my bag. It's helped. But one thing I think is not going to help that much if I still think that I'm going to play bad. So for this week, just different mindset, let it go. If it's gone bad, just let it go bad. If it's good, it's good.
Q. How old are you?
CHANETTEE WANNASAEN: 22.
