Bryson DeChambeau

Rocester, England, UK

JCB Golf and Country Club

Crushers GC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Bryson DeChambeau, captain of Crushers GC. Welcome back. How did you feel about today's performance? Birdied two of the last three there.

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Played great coming in. Excited to make those two birdies. They were huge. Just needed to keep some sort of distance to and Lucas. Lucas is playing some great golf right now. It's going to take something good and special tomorrow to catch him. Hope to play good golf tomorrow too.

Q. You cut the deficit by one, but Tyrrell, Cam, Harold, Abe, they really showed the strength of the field today.

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Yeah, I mean, it's impressive with how windy it was out there. I didn't really see those scores. It was a great testament to how good our players are, and pretty pumped to see that.

Q. How have the fans treated you? How have the crowds been this week? They really showed out today.

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: They've been great. They showed out today. They had a lot of enthusiasm. It was fun playing in front of them. They're a great group of people.

Q. Bryson, if the weather is like this tomorrow, which it's supposed to be, it might be rainy in the morning too, is that more advantageous for the chasers or the guy that's leading?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: I have no idea. It's a great question that I just don't even know, if I'm being honest. It could be good; it could be bad. If you get a couple good breaks in some softer conditions and you flare a drive and it stays in the fairway, maybe. Or you hit the ball and it stays on the face. There's numerous things that can happen.

With it being windy out here, it definitely made it more difficult, I thought, for the guys behind, but I felt like I had nothing to lose.

Q. Do you feel like at least you cut the deficit by a stroke today? Do you feel like that was at least somewhat of an accomplishment today? At least you're not still down by four.

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Yeah, I wish I was leading. Should a, could a, would a, right? I just played great golf today, and that's all I can do. I'm playing against the golf course, and I tried to beat Lucas and do everything I can, but if he goes and shoots 7, 8-under tomorrow, I mean, I've got to shoot 11-, 12-under.

So really it was just set up by a couple of errant shots in the middle of the round today and yesterday. I can add up a lot, but I'm 17-under par, three shots back, and I've got to go get it tomorrow.

Q. Any particular shot you want back?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Probably the second shot on 10. We should have known it was going to run and go into the rough. I caught a jumper.

Same sort of situation on 11, 10 and 11. I mean, I play those holes a little differently, make birdie on 11, and then even 12, jut the wind took it. I hit a cut shot.

10, 11, 12 that stretch; if I had a little different game plan going into those I probably could be close to the lead, but I'm three back.

Q. Bryson, well played again today. I saw you just before you went out, and you were using every last second and sign autographs. I know that's a big part of who you are. Why do you put so much into doing that, even just seconds before you have to go to the tee?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Yeah, I think they're the future of the game. I'm not going to be here forever. As a kid -- again, I've said this story numerous times -- but as a kid I was inspired by a few professionals that stayed around and signed some autographs for me after I showed up in a clinic and hit some great drives. They all stayed for me and signed my hat. They were like, we'll see you out there one day. That just was a huge pull to my heart that that really matters.

You're going to get the passionate side of me out at the golf course trying to win championships, and then you're going to get the soft side of, you know, huh, it's more than just a game. It's for these kids, these individuals.

Q. There has been speculation that you may turn up at the Irish Open in September. I know you're friendly with the President, and it's at his course in Doonbeg, Trump International. Will we see you there in September playing?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU: Yeah, if it fits in the schedule I've love to go play. I love playing internationally and that's what we do here at LIV. Anywhere I can go to support great golf in a good place, I'm all for.

So we'll see if it fits in and it makes sense for the schedule. That's really all I have to say.
