Q. A round of 5-under and you currently have a five-shot lead here in Scotland. Just talk me through today, another day of wind and cold conditions.

JENNY SHIN: Yeah, I mean, I think it was actually a little bit easier than yesterday. A few holes on the back nine there was no wind but I didn't take advantage of those holes. But yeah, just kind of followed my way around, made the birdies when I could and tried really hard not to make any 3-putts.

Q. You only had one blemish on your scorecard, started with a bogey but then turned it around immediately with a little birdie. How was it out there staying patient, as you say, when you're dealing with a links golf course?

JENNY SHIN: Yeah, first hole slightly unlucky. I thought I hit a pretty good shot but it ended up in the bushes.

Yeah, I had to stay real patient. Hit some weird shots. Yeah, just stayed patient.

Q. And then in terms of the birdies you did make, were your irons really good today and you were hitting it close, or were you putting well, as well?

JENNY SHIN: I think I definitely putted well. I had 20 putts inside five feet. Tried to get it close when I had a wedge in my hand.

Q. And halfway point at the competition, how do you feel sitting atop the leaderboard with a five-shot lead? Were you aware you were that far ahead?

JENNY SHIN: Yeah, I did see the leaderboard coming down on 16 and 9, as well. Yeah, I never had a five-shot lead before. I'm going to try and stay patient the next two days. It is links golf.

Q. What's your favourite thing about Scotland?

JENNY SHIN: I really like coming here. I don't mind the weather. I don't mind -- I love links golf courses. It's one of my favourite type of golf courses. Yeah, it's always been my favourite stop. I don't think I've ever skipped The Scottish Open. Yeah, really enjoying it.

Q. Where did you find your love for links golf?

JENNY SHIN: Probably my first ever British Open at Carnoustie. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, what I was playing. One day it was blowing 40 miles. The next day, it's just calm. I had forgotten to play when it was calm.

So I kind of fell in love, like this is a true test of golf. Like you have to be so creative, and I'm quite creative around the greens and I love hitting different shots.

Yeah, I just kind of fell in love at Carnoustie for the first time. Very nice being over here, so I get to experience different kind of tests.

Q. And then you're enjoying putting on these hard greens. Maybe some of the others are finding it hard to get used to. How have you gotten your irons --

JENNY SHIN: Dundonald is a little bit different. This year is a bit different, as well. Greens are surprisingly a bit receptive, like on the last hole. I knew if I landed it -- it would still stop. I feel like if the greens were firm like some other British Open courses -- but the greens here are poa annua. It's not like full fescue greens.

And I've been to Dundonald quite a lot. Like I walk to the green and I know where that's going to break. So there's a bit of an advantage to having some familiarity with the golf course.

Q. Five-shot lead, how do you sleep tonight?

JENNY SHIN: Really well. I'm knackered. I'm so tired right now.
