Q. What pleased you most about your play?

JERRY KELLY: I made a few key par putts. I started -- I get out here and I want to hit the ball so bad because you're hitting some strange shots. You don't see where you're going.

So it's in your mind, and you just pick up a little quick, and I'm a little quick, anyway.

But it was nice that I settled into my round well after the first bunch of holes, even though I birdied the first couple, I was fine at even par because I really settled in and started playing some good golf.

Q. What was the biggest challenge of that difficult course then, particularly in the middle of the front nine, the wind was really blowing.

JERRY KELLY: It's trying to figure out your run-out distances. I hit a one-iron utility about 370. Lucky Monty went first on 18 because I hit my 1-iron utility, and then I went to my 3-iron utility, and he's hitting 4-iron; I hit 4-iron and still put it in the bunker.

It's trying to figure out just how hot it got in the fairways, and where the bunkers are and the run-outs. We ran out most of the time. It was a challenge out of the rough, getting the ball to stop on some of these greens.

Q. How much are you looking forward to tomorrow, hopefully a bit calmer in the morning?

JERRY KELLY: Yeah, that would be nice. The wind helps sometimes, too. So I don't mind it either way. But I will take some calmer, softer conditions. I love this kind of golf. It's just fun.
