Q. 1-under, well in the mix. Tell me about your round.

PATTY TAVATANKIT: I honestly don't know much about my round today. Just kind of -- I was out there and I was having fun after the bogey start. I basically told my caddie, let's play a birdie game, $20 for birdie. I think bogey, I had to give him ten. So I won some money today.

Q. You certainly did. It was a day when there's plenty of bogeys out there but obviously some birdies, as you've shown. But that wind is tough, isn't it?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yeah, it was tough. I feel like leading up to this event, I wasn't really committed to like my start line and for some reason when it's harder, I just kind of like do it better than when it's easy. So I guess that's a good thing.

Q. Some of the pins out there are also pretty challenging, aren't they?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yeah, like I think on the third hole, I was asking my caddie, like are we like playing on the fourth round right now? Because I wasn't sure, these pins are like first round pins, you know what I mean.

Q. Yeah, well, you got through them. Your build up to this event is different to some players. You spent the week in Manchester, and you had some good time watching the -- well, watching the football, really got involved and covered in beer. Tell me a little bit about that.

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yes, I'm not sure if I can say much about what I did last week but I had a lot of fun, and thanks to Amelia for dragging me out to have fun with her. She's always shown me a good time. Yeah.

, we also grinded. We practised and we actually took it seriously. So a good life balance and just to have her as my kind of travel companion was a cherry on top.

Q. Just to be clear to people, you were watching the World Cup football, England and Argentinians and it got pretty rowdy.

PATTY TAVATANKIT: For sure. It was something I never experienced before. It was great. If they were to win, it would be probable the best night of my life, like ever, and maybe I won't say what I would do.

Q. What it has inspired is a good round of golf. Was the mindset on your golf after the bogey start just to play more freely and try and enjoy it more?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yeah, definitely. Why he just went out there and I just played and I played really freely. It was tough. I committed to what I needed to do, and it was one of those days where I executed and it ended up being good, yeah.

Q. In terms of your game, so you said -- was your ball-striking pretty good today?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yeah, I would say it's the best it's ever been, and for windy condition, it was really good as well.

Q. You played around Manchester. Did that help you in preparation for this week?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yeah, everything was so tight, and I come here and it's so wide open. Just felt more free.

Q. How good is it to be back on links in sunny weather rather than having the rain?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: I think the sunny and the wind definitely makes it a lot more enjoyable. I don't want to say bad things about Scotland. I love the UK. I love playing here. But windy and rain is a little miserable.

Q. In terms of tomorrow, what's the game plan? Will you be just seeing what the weather is doing?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Yes.

Q. And adapting?

PATTY TAVATANKIT: Exactly. That's like what I had in mind. We'll see how the weather is tomorrow and we'll see what we have to do.
