THE 154TH OPEN

July 19, 2026

Casey Jarvis

Southport, Merseyside, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. A fantastic round to close your Open Championship debut. Take us through that 66 today.

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, it was a lot of fun out there. I mentioned having fun yesterday in an interview, and yeah, that's what I did today. It was amazing with the crowds and had the whole family out. Yeah, it was truly special. Played some unreal golf, and yeah, just kept it pretty tight.

Q. When the breeze started coming on that front nine, did it calm you down a bit?

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I made a nice birdie on the third hole of the day and kind of got me going. Yeah, just kept it pretty solid from there. Hit some really good iron shots and holed a couple good putts, which kept the momentum going. Yeah, I just pretty much stayed solid until the end.

Q. I know you would have liked to take advantage of the two par-5s on the back nine, but how important was it to stay in the game and get the wonderful birdie at 18?

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, it was disappointing parring 14 and 17, finding the bunkers off the tee, which wasn't great. But yeah, I kept positive, and I knew 18 is a really tricky finishing hole, and I needed a good drive. Hit a really nice drive down there and hit a good iron shot and made the putt.

Yeah, I'm very proud of myself.

Q. I know you haven't had the time yet, but if you take the last seven months and how your career has kicked on to the next level and finishing off so strong here, potential top-10 finish at The Open, how do you sum up the last seven months?

CASEY JARVIS: Oh, I didn't expect to be in this position competing against the best players in the world. I didn't see myself coming top 10 in The Open, hopefully top 10 in The Open. I think the last seven months have been a little bit of a blur, winning twice in Kenya and my home open. But yeah, you've got to go on the confidence, and I think that's what I've done, and I've taken advantage of that.

Q. Looking at that leaderboard and seeing the names that are there and how you played, does that give you confidence that you belong out here?

CASEY JARVIS: 100 percent. All the guys at the top of the leaderboard were my role models growing up with Scottie, Rory and a few other guys. I've been looking up to them, seeing how their game is, and to see my name on the leaderboard amongst the best players in the world, it truly means the world to me.
