THE 154TH OPEN

July 18, 2026

Casey Jarvis

Southport, Merseyside, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. A bit of a grind to post a 1-over. How are you feeling?

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, it was a grind to get to the weekend today. Yeah, I've been struggling with an intracostal muscle on the right and obviously didn't expect to play Thursday morning, but to peg it up in my first Open, I just got to take everything in. Worried more about my injury than about the actual golf I was playing.

Yeah, I think that kind of helped me. I wasn't expecting much out of this week, and to get through the week and have a solid round yesterday, I'm truly proud of myself.

Q. How yesterday? You played really good golf.

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, a lot of solid golf yesterday. Conditions were favourable towards me. There wasn't much wind. Yeah, I kind of took advantage of it, and I rolled in a few long putts, which really helped.

Q. A round in the 60s. You got off to a solid start on the front side today.

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I felt like today was a day to take advantage of the conditions out there. We didn't have much wind. It was out there. A low score was out there. I turned 2-over, and with two par-5s on the back, I was expecting a bit lower on the back nine, but unfortunately didn't have the best back nine but finished nicely birdieing 16 and 17.

Yeah, a lot of positives going into tomorrow.

Q. Considering where you were Wednesday afternoon, thinking you might not even peg it up on Thursday, to be here on the weekend and the way you've played to bounce back, what will be your thoughts going into tomorrow?

CASEY JARVIS: Yeah, I just want to take everything in. It's another -- this is my fourth major and my first Open, so I'm just going to go out tomorrow, have as much fun as possible, take in the moment, and yeah, enjoy it as much as I can.
