Q. I'll just start off. Scottie, just let us know your summary of the round today.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I did a lot of good stuff. I gave myself a lot of opportunities. Wish I holed a few more putts, but I did what I could on the greens as well. Overall was pleased with the output.
Q. Did you talk to Bryson's line on 9? It seemed to get your attention?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Well, Tyrrell and I thought it almost hit the flag on the grandstand, bleacher, whatever. From our angle on the right side of the tee, it looked like it almost hit the flag, so we were laughing because it looked like it grazed the tower.
Q. I was just curious from a strategy perspective. Is he hitting different shots off the tee than you are in terms of attacking the course?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, he hits it further, so he's taking some different lines, like 9 for example, and 10. Overall, I'm not paying too much attention to it. Watching his ball flight is not going to help me figure out what the wind is going to do typically or anything like that.
He has a different ball flight and different spin than me. So even clubbing off of the par-3s and stuff like that is pretty much nonexistent. So I wouldn't say I'm paying too close attention.
Q. Scottie, versus what you thought your game plan was coming in and where you wanted to be on the leaderboard, where are you right now going into the weekend? Do you feel good about it?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Just blanket where I want to be on the leaderboard is the top at all times, every time, for the rest of time.
Q. I understand.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I know what you mean, but I just want that on the record. For the rest of time, top of the leaderboard is good.
No, it's not the worst position. I struck the ball really nice the last couple days, and so I'm very pleased with that. All you can do is continue to give myself opportunities. That was kind of what I told myself today. I was hitting some good putts as well, the balls just weren't dropping.
It's kind of like just continue to knock on the door, continue to give myself opportunities. If I continue to strike it like I did today and yesterday over the next couple days, I'll be in a good spot.
