THE 154TH OPEN

July 17, 2026

Scott Vincent

Southport, Merseyside, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Can you give us a summary of your round here at Birkdale.

SCOTT VINCENT: It was awesome. It was awesome. I would have loved to have played much better this week, but a heck of an experience. I loved it.

Q. Your positive outlook, the fact that you made it here, it was a few years since the last time you played. What do you take from the week?

SCOTT VINCENT: I think it's a good opportunity just to reflect on where your game's at, what you can improve on, maybe what you would change. That's common for all of us to just look at the week like that.

There's still a lot of events for me for the rest of the year. Going to try to use this to figure out how do we get better. Yeah, there's always room to improve. There's a reason that there's guys that are 8-under par. Yeah, I've got to find a way to improve and get better if I want to come back and play here again.

Q. Besides the struggle, how much do you enjoy playing these type of events and these type of golf courses?

SCOTT VINCENT: I think these golf courses are some of the coolest to play in the world. We don't play them very often. It's always such a good challenge and an adjustment when you do play them.

I love the challenge. I wish we played more golf like this.

Q. Have you been able to kind of track or do you know the story of Zimbabweans at The Open before you, like Nick Price, or those before? What impressed you the most about them?

SCOTT VINCENT: Obviously Nick's career kind of took off before I was born, but I know what he's done at The Open. So it's -- you know, I think it just gives you a bit of encouragement. Like these types of things are possible, but you've got to figure out what's going to work for me. I'm not a Nick Price. I've got to figure out what works for Scott Vincent.

Obviously I'm very proud of what he's done and how he's lifted Zimbabwe onto the golfing map. Yeah, like I said, I've got to do my internal adjustments and figure out how I can be in contention sometime in the future.

Q. The fans out there, to play in front of a stage like this, that must be a fantastic experience for you, tens of thousands of fans coming out here to see you play.

SCOTT VINCENT: Yeah, I think one of the coolest memories obviously is walking down 18, hitting two great shots into that green and getting an applause for that. I really appreciate that and loved it.

So thank you to all the fans. Yeah, very thankful.
