Q. Solid golf today, mate. I suppose yesterday was tough conditions, but when you stepped on the first tee this morning, how noticeable were the conditions today?
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, definitely. Slightly different wind starting out today. It moved a little bit during the day, but it was obviously light, really the whole round, but it was light the front nine, where the course was very gettable. Good shots were getting a little more rewarded than yesterday because you had to be a little careful, and the good ones finished further away.
Q. How was the mindset after yesterday? Obviously yesterday tough conditions and came in today thinking there was going to be a score out there?
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, I saw yesterday morning the good scores were out there. The greens just rolled a lot better in the morning off the fresh cut and roll, and they dry out throughout the day. It's just harder putting on them later in the day. You've got to take advantage of that morning time, and I did, so overall it's not a bad two days' worth.
Q. Obviously you're within striking distance, I suppose, going into the weekend?
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I haven't really looked at the forecast, but generally it seems good. Maybe get out there, and with a hot nine holes somewhere over the weekend, get in the mix.
Q. I know you haven't had a lot to do over the last couple years with Lucas, but he shot 62 today. Have you seen a progression from him the last few years, and what's sort of been the key to improvement in his game?
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, I don't really know. He's got a lot of game. He's a big, strong guy. This is a pretty out there comment because I don't know his game inside and out, but I would fancy him around a links. I see him playing shots. So when he's on, I feel like the links kind of would really suit him because he can be creative and get more reward for it on the links rather than some other tracks. I think he grew up down in Melbourne, as well, on some firm and fast conditions. I'd say he's probably got a pretty high level of comfort for it.
Q. How have you tried to play the 18th hole? Seems like it's a difficult and good closing hole to an Open.
ADAM SCOTT: I've played it with an iron off the tee and a long iron into the green.
Q. No driver consideration?
ADAM SCOTT: There's nowhere to hit it. Can't stay in the fairway. If you want to hit it in a bunker, you can hit driver.
