Quick Quotes
Q. Congratulations on another win today. Can you talk me through your last match, what was working and kind of how it went?
ATHENA SINGH: I feel like both of us were a little on the struggle bus. There were some holes where we both played really well and some where we were just trying to make up-and-down.
I feel like my up-and-down game was pretty strong, like I had some short-sided chips that I ended up just having a tap-in for, so that really helped. Then I made a few long putts. Those birdie putts, I think, really helped me stay in the game because she was making a few long putts as well.
Q. What was your longest birdie putt? Which hole?
ATHENA SINGH: I think it might have been the par-3. I had about 12 to 15 feet downhill. That was probably -- and then I had one from the fringe like off -- I think it was 13. It was off the fringe. That one went in. It was definitely going too far, but it went in thankfully.
Q. When you're in a match that's so back and forth, 1 up, 1 down, how do you deal with the pressure and the moment that comes with that?
ATHENA SINGH: I really try to think that neither of us are on the top of our game right now, so anything could happen. Then I just try to stay as consistent as possible, like even though I might not be hitting it great.
Q. You've played in a lot of USGA Championships already. You were obviously the runner-up at the Four-Ball a couple of years ago. How have you used that experience leading up into this week?
ATHENA SINGH: I think seeing a big event like this, you kind of come in with some nerves. I think after playing so many, the nerves have kind of settled down a little. I think that helps.
Also, the types of courses they have us play are always pretty challenging. Playing the longer distances, just getting those long irons dialed in, I think that experience helped a lot.
