Q. Tell us about your round. These conditions kind of work for you?
THOMAS DETRY: Yes. Yeah, I mean, I think it would work for a lot of people, to be honest.
Very nice. Hit some good drivers off the tee. It helps to have length. The course is tough. The good tee shots have to show up. I'm thinking of hole No. 8, hole No. 13, No. 18, you really got to show up and hit a really great tee shot.
Q. What would you say is the toughest part in these conditions?
THOMAS DETRY: It's sort of readjusting a little bit. It's really going a long way. Very defensive on some of the downhill holes. If you hit a 4-iron a little bit strong and takes a firm bounce, it can roll 300 yards. The bunkers will really be in play. Those are the little things to be sort of aware of.
Got to try to keep it on the right side of the hole, a couple holes you really have to be wary. The long par-3 15 really like -- it's only when you're on the green that you realize how slopey and steep the green is.
Q. On the other hand, what makes you able to score? And we see the kind of scores that we're seeing today?
THOMAS DETRY: I made some big putts. I made one mistake today was on hole No. 6. I just didn't stretch the line, and the ball went straight left.
Had to lay up again then and made a great putt for bogey, which really was big. I was able to get two birdies after that. So I was really pleased with that little bounce back and had some momentum for the rest of the round.
