Q. You must be pretty pleased with that round.

LAURIE CANTER: Yeah, I think for the most part, yeah, it was a good day. I got a lot out of the front nine. I didn't hit a lot of -- I didn't hit that many good shots early on, but obviously holed that bunker shot on 2 and got myself up-and-down a few times.

Yeah, I think probably at that point if you'd offered me 1-under, I'd be pretty happy with that.

Q. You had a birdie chance on 18?

LAURIE CANTER: Yeah, 18 is playing absolutely brutal. Such a hard hole. I don't know what to hit off the tee really. You've just got to try and find the fairway up the left side and avoid that main one at about 280, so I tried staying just short of that and left myself a 3-iron in.

I think making a 4 out there, I was happy with that.

Q. How challenging was the wind? Did it change direction?

LAURIE CANTER: It switched a little bit, yeah. Basically it's like all links courses when they get this firm. You're playing crosswinds, you're having to work the ball constantly into the wind to try and soften the flight when it lands on the fairways. The fairways aren't obviously that wide, so to try and maximise the size of them you've got to work your ball either way off the tee.

It's playing tougher. As it gets firmer, it's going to play tougher and tougher. I definitely think the morning guys, I watched a bit of the coverage this morning and the ball was stopping a little quicker off the tee and equally into the greens.

I'm really happy with that round, getting an under-par round under my belt, and I get to go out really early tomorrow morning and hopefully make a few more birdies.
