AMERICAN CENTURY CHAMPIONSHIP

July 12, 2026

Steph Curry

Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA

Edgewood Tahoe

Quick Quotes

Q. Start to give yourself a chance, do exactly what you did. How confident were you?

STEPH CURRY: I was just trying to stay in my own lane and just play the best I could. I got off to a good start. I feel I birdied the eighth hole and got it to 3-under. Then you don't know where everybody else is. On the back nine, scoreboard watched. It was crazy just because I was kind of comfortable with it, knowing what you need to do.

Obviously tough break on 18. I tried to kill it and give myself an eagle chance and do something crazy. Double (inaudible). To even have a chance like the last six holes, you could still have a chance.

Q. (Inaudible)?

STEPH CURRY: The whole back nine, just because I knew I was close enough. Roll in a couple down the stretch. I birdied 16. I had a 10-footer on 17 and missed it. And then just again one bad drive on 18. The fact that scoreboard watching down the stretch got my juices flowing. It was pretty fun.

Q. You were saying yesterday, hopefully top 5, top 3 would be good. (Inaudible) but overall just happy with the performance you had this week?

STEPH CURRY: Yeah, it was kind of digging deep. I played pretty well the first day. Horrible yesterday. The back nine, I got myself back in. To have that stretch between the back nine and 17, the longest bogey free stretch I've had in my life. That was pretty cool. (Inaudible) anytime you're in contention, you're happy.

Q. Talk about the crowds today. What were the crowds out there like today?

STEPH CURRY: They were special. All week, you love the energy, the support. Bringing jerseys out. Families are making memories. Really special. That's why we all look forward to this week is, in our world, you can't really find something like this in golf. We look forward to it.

Q. (Inaudible) was coming...

STEPH CURRY: I did not. I knew he was coming to Tahoe. It was a mystery where he was at. The fact he came out, it was (inaudible). That meant a lot.

Q. Who do you want to see get it done today?

STEPH CURRY: I'm a big Pavelski fan. I know it's easy to say right now. I think he's still winning. I have been in the final group with him a couple of times. When I won, he was in the group. I know he's been there knocking on the door, serendipitous as well. Everybody knows when you retire your game might take a leap. But hopefully it pays off for him. I know he's going to cover other events, but hopefully he gets it done.

Q. It was his birthday Friday. Anniversary yesterday. He's got to get it done?

STEPH CURRY: This was a week of celebration every year. I think I went to his birthday dinner one of those years. Hopefully he gets it done and he can celebrate.
