THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. Not the result you wanted, but how do you sum that up as an experience?
HARRY WENDELKEN: An unbelievable experience. I felt so proud of myself from the start to the end. I gave it my all. I tried my hardest. I maybe felt like I could have played a little bit better. But obviously he's a great opponent. It was always going to be tough.
Yeah, I'm just super, super happy and proud of myself.
Q. You had a lot of support there as well. Felt like a football stadium at times.
HARRY WENDELKEN: Yeah, a lot of support from the guys who came down from Cambridge. It was great.
Q. What's your first experience of Wimbledon been like in terms of playing in the singles main draw, getting to practice here the last few days?
HARRY WENDELKEN: Yeah, I mean, it's very difficult to put into words, like, how amazing and special it is. Like, I've been so happy that I've been given this opportunity to play on the Wimbledon courts, showcase my tennis, and try and do my best, show what I can do.
Yeah, it's just been amazing.
Q. Obviously came down to fine margins in the end. What do you think the biggest difference was?
HARRY WENDELKEN: I mean, if I'm being honest, he's 75 in the world. I'm 200 in the world. He's better at tennis than me.
Doesn't mean I can't win that match or doesn't mean my level wasn't good enough to win. But he's definitely experienced these things on the biggest stages way more than I have.
Yeah, I think maybe it just came down to a bit more of experience.
Q. What's next for you? How much do you think this experience can help?
HARRY WENDELKEN: Yeah, I think it will help me massively. Obviously I've got the doubles, I don't know if it's tomorrow or Thursday. I'm going to get my body ready for that and do my best.
But yeah, I'm definitely going to take this experience on and carry it on for the rest of the year and my whole life. Like, it's definitely a big confidence booster for me. Yeah, hopefully I can continue playing the way I want to play and just get better as a tennis player.
Q. You've had this opportunity here. How much motivation does it give you to get back next year and years to come?
HARRY WENDELKEN: Yeah, like massive motivation. Hopefully I'll get back here next year and that, like, will be a massive, massive goal for me. It's definitely a lot better than playing in bad places in futures tennis and stuff like that (smiling).
Yeah, I want this to be my life for the next eight to 10 years. Like, it's unbelievable. I'm just so grateful that I've been able to have a small experience of it.
