THE MODERATOR: If you could just talk us through your thoughts on the match today, please.

FLAVIO COBOLLI: Sorry for be late.

First of all, it's not easy to come back and play the next day, so it's the first time that I did it, and I think I managed all the thing very well.

Today the level was a little bit higher than yesterday, so I'm quite happy. I saved many set points. I think also this kind of thing can help me for the next round for my tennis and feeling with the ball, feeling with the court.

I didn't play so much on grass, so I need time, and the first round help me to have another chance to play on this fantastic tournament. So I'm really happy to have the opportunity to play here in Wimbledon.

Q. Great win. Did you expect this level from Mariano on grass? What did you struggle with the most?

FLAVIO COBOLLI: No, you know, now every player play good on all the surface, so I expect. This kind of surface this year in Wimbledon is quite slow, so everyone can play good.

Maybe I was struggling with my -- I mean, sometime I felt that he was better than me on the rally, so I think I had to find a way to put the match on my way. So I think I did it, and the struggling at the end was for him.

Q. When you look at your game last year here and your game today and yesterday, what areas do you think you have improved on, and what areas do you think you've gone down on?

FLAVIO COBOLLI: Gone down? Nothing (smiling). I think everything goes up, and the level now is good. I'm happy with it.

I think my back, my slice, now is another thing that I can use. Today I did it, so we work a lot on the volley and on slice. It's an area that I never played before, so I'm quite good.
