THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 1, 2026

Mirra Andreeva

Wimbledon, London, UK

Press Conference

B. KREJCIKOVA/M. Andreeva

4-6, 7-5, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Mirra, not the result you wanted, but your thoughts on the match this afternoon.

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Yeah, I felt like obviously it was tough. She played well. I felt like obviously I had some chances, some opportunities. Didn't go my way. So she's the winner today.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. How difficult is it to process the emotions after a really tight one like that?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, I think of course I'm going to need a couple days (tearing up).

THE MODERATOR: Do you want to take a couple minutes?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: (Shaking head.)

Sorry. Yeah, it's going to take some time, maybe a couple of days, and then I'm going to be back to practice for hard courts. I don't know what my next tournaments are going to be. I still need to talk to my team to see where I'm going to play next.

Q. It was such a tough draw to get Barbora in the second round. What is toughest for you, because it's coming on the heels of Roland Garros or...

MIRRA ANDREEVA: I think she played well today. She's a tricky opponent, especially to play against her on grass. She changes the rhythm a lot. The slices and dropshots, here they stay low, they don't bounce. I've had some trouble with that, as well.

A lot of mistakes today also. Yeah, she played well, but I felt like I could have also played better. That's it.

Q. Coming right after Paris, was it tough to get back into Grand Slam mode?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: Well, yeah, it's not easy. But, I mean, I'm not the only one that does that, so... I think more or less we're in even conditions.

Q. Talking about the third set, when you won the game where you saved the six match points, did you feel you turned the match around in your favor, or were the frustrations still building?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: I felt as soon as I won that game I felt like I had a lot of great chances to make the score even with my serve.

Yeah, I didn't serve very well, didn't win a lot of free points with my serve as I usually do. I felt like yes, it could have been a turning point. As you can see, it didn't work and it wasn't the turning point in the end.

Q. How aware were you there was a lot of noise in the third set because there was an England game going on at the same time? At one point you were serving, there was quite a big reaction from people. Did you pick up on that, it affected you?

MIRRA ANDREEVA: No, I didn't know. Was there a football match?

Q. Yes.

MIRRA ANDREEVA: I didn't know that. I didn't feel like they were super loud. They did it when she was still going to the baseline to return, so it didn't bother me at all. I didn't feel like it was super loud, as well.
