Press Conference
B. BENCIC/A. Kalinskaya
6-4, 4-6, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: Belinda, a nice win this afternoon. Could you give us your thoughts on your match today?
BELINDA BENCIC: Yeah, thank you. Of course, it's a third-round, third-set match tiebreak win again. I'm really happy. Of course, it was a really tough match, up-and-downs, but yeah, happy with the tiebreak in the end.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.
Q. Great win. How much do you enjoy super-tiebreaks to 10 points? I guess it is what it is, but how much do you enjoy going through that moment, or not really?
BELINDA BENCIC: I don't think there is any player that is enjoying match tiebreaks. It's for sure a lot of stress. Either you win or you lose. You know, it's like the end, kind of the last push.
Of course in a tiebreak, anything can happen. It's really important to have a good start and to kind of, you know, fight for every point really.
Yeah, especially on grass, I think it's even more tricky.
Q. Are you a player that, just in terms of the formatting, do you enjoy having the match end in that tiebreaker, or would you rather when it was previously, you had to win by two games?
BELINDA BENCIC: I'm not really thinking about it. I don't know. Maybe it was a bit more, let's say, not deserved, but maybe it was really, you know, to win these two games was a little bit more kind of, like, not by accident. Sometimes in a tiebreak it can happen a lot. You have a bad start, you miss your serve a few times, and you know the tiebreak is almost gone.
So I think maybe by these two games it was obviously harder to break and kind of the matches went longer, so obviously I understand why it's short and to a match tiebreak.
Q. I know on court you were talking about how you love to watch tennis outside of when you're done with your match. When you're preparing for your next match, are you a player that likes to watch film of your opponents, or you defer that to your team to tell you, or are you watching for fun?
BELINDA BENCIC: No, I am watching film of my opponents. Of course with some opponents a little bit more and with some a little bit less. Always depends on the player and also my tactic, if I'm focusing more on what to do or if I'm focusing more on myself.
I'm watching a lot of someone, for example, who I don't know. So, for example, the first match that I was playing, I don't know my opponent at all, so I have to watch a lot.
But, yeah, it always a little bit depends.
Q. Going off that, before I ask my question, do you know who you would be playing next?
BELINDA BENCIC: Yes.
Q. Some players don't like me to spoil it. Starting with Claire, how much do you know about Claire? I think you played once a few years ago at AO. What do you make of her run so far?
BELINDA BENCIC: Yes, I think she can be really good and dangerous player. She takes the ball early and has a really nice technique. I know she's capable of doing a good run.
Of course, against Coco, I played many times.
