THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 7, 2026

Jannik Sinner

Wimbledon, London, UK

Press Conference

J. SINNER/J.L. Struff

7-5, 7-6, 6-3

THE MODERATOR: Jannik, straight-sets win over a tough opponent. Happy with your form today?

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, tough match. Of course, very different to the opponents I've had until now. It was a very solid performance from my side, so I'm very happy. Now let's see what's coming the next round.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Taylor Fritz said when he looks at his next opponents, he doesn't like to look at the match live when they're playing. He likes to wait until they're done playing to analyze who he knows he's going to play. How do you approach that as Felix and Novak are taking the court?

JANNIK SINNER: If I'm going to watch?

Q. Yes.

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, of course I'm going to watch. I like to watch tennis, in any case.

But yeah, of course I also know that it is different because whoever I'm going to play, it's going to be a different match with me or with anyone else because of certain tactical stuff.

But yeah, I mean, I'm going to watch. I like to watch tennis in general. It's going to be a good match I think to watch, as well.

Then, of course, after it's a bit different because we have two days off. It's going to be a very relaxed day tomorrow. A little bit harder then the next day again. Then hopefully be ready for the semifinals.

Q. It's kind of hot out there today. Does the heat feel different here than it did in Paris and Australia?

JANNIK SINNER: It felt okay. I mean, it was warm, but nothing crazy, so... In Australia, I feel like it's tougher because also on the surface you're playing, with hard court it comes also from underneath.

It was quite dry today, which is a big difference. When it's humid and warm, it's different again.

But no, I felt quite comfortable today. It was warm, yes. It was similar I feel like to Paris maybe. But yeah, it was okay.

Q. Obviously we don't know who you're going to play yet. If you play Novak, you had that good winning run against him, then obviously he got you in Australia. Does that change the dynamic at all, anything about this matchup?

JANNIK SINNER: I mean, first of all, let's see. He has a tough match. If it's Novak, I feel like every match is different. Even when I had this small streak with him, I felt like every match has really its own story. Especially when you play on a surface like this, if you have a bad serving day or not feeling the ball very well, it's going to be very, very tough.

In any case, I'm happy to be back in the semis. I'm happy to fight for every ball, then we see. More I cannot do, so...

He has won this tournament so many times and he knows exactly how to approach it. I'm looking forward to it.

If it's Felix, we played each other couple of times now, so we know a little bit what to expect. We practiced before the tournament. He's a really, really aggressive player.

First of all, I'm happy to be there in the semifinals once again here. Trying to play the best possible tennis I can. I hope also for a good day.

Q. Arriving in this last stretch, what are you the most satisfied with regarding your game?

JANNIK SINNER: It felt like serving in important moments. I felt like I was serving quite intelligently today, even though I was up a break. Second set I had a drop of concentration again. I tried to stay there mentally in every service game.

Yeah, also how I handled important moments in that match because if you lose second sets, everything can happen again. Especially with big servers, you have less control.

That's for sure something I can be proud of. That's it. I felt like today was, again, a small step better because it was a very different opponent I faced until now. Big server here on grass is always tough.

Happy about today's performance, and now of course I try to be as ready as I can for the semis.

Q. Your team always wear the same color. Who chooses that color and how many are there?

JANNIK SINNER: You need to ask my team, not me (smiling).

Q. You're in charge of that?

JANNIK SINNER: No, I'm not in charge. The only color I don't like is a white hat for a certain reason. We have a not good win percentage when they have white cap, so...

But the rest they choose (smiling).
