GENESIS SCOTTISH OPEN

July 10, 2026

Jordan Smith

North Berwick, Scotland

The Renaissance Club

Quick Quotes

Q. A round of 63 which included eight birdies. Is there something you did particularly well or is the overall game good?

JORDAN SMITH: I probably didn't hit it as good as I did yesterday. I putted really, really well today. Felt really comfortable on the greens. Holed some nice, long putts. But yeah, just felt really, really relaxed out there which is nice.

Q. Seeing more birdies and lower scoring, generally. Why are we seeing that?

JORDAN SMITH: I think just because of the wind. There's not a huge amount out there. And you've got the firm, fast fairways, so obviously the boys are hitting it a long way.

So with these tame conditions, sort of taking advantage of them.

Q. Pin positions yesterday were tucked away. Were they as severe today?

JORDAN SMITH: A few you've got to be careful, but overall, because they are predicting a different wind this afternoon, they are being a little bit more careful. There weren't so many dicey ones out there.

Q. We chatted to you yesterday about you are enjoying your rookie season on the PGA TOUR. Is it making you a better player?

JORDAN SMITH: Possibly. I think last year it gave me a lot of confidence. And it's just been nice being on the PGA TOUR playing with the best guys in the world, and I mean, they look after you so well out there. Play on some of the best golf courses in the world.

Yeah, it's been a lot of fun. But still got a bit of work to do.

Q. Going out in 30 and come back in 33. Any particular aspect of your game that you elevated today or was it a complete effort?

JORDAN SMITH: You've still got to hit the fairways and greens, but I think the putting today was a lot better than yesterday. Ball-striking yesterday was probably one of the best I've done for a long time, which is nice considering I've had three weeks off.

So yeah, it was nice to see that and really enjoying that, really relaxed. Nice to see some putts go in today.

Q. You've been working your craft on the PGA TOUR, consciously or subconsciously, is it refreshing to be back on the DP World Tour?

JORDAN SMITH: Yeah, I was really excited to get back here. I've spent ten seasons on the DP World Tour, so it was nice coming back to see friends and some familiar faces at work out here.

Yeah, I was really, really looking forward to this week and next week. I think just having those three weeks off, put the clubs away for a week, relax and come back to it sort of re-energised.

Q. We're at the halfway point. What would you like to continue to do well rest of the way and are there certain things you would like to improve?

JORDAN SMITH: I think if I can keep the same attitude I've had for the last two days, I'll be very happy with that. I think the swing is in a good place. Just hope that putter stays as hot as it was today.
