Q. Here with Brooke Henderson. Great round out there today. What was working so well for you?

BROOKE HENDERSON: It was just like a solid day all around. I kind of bogeyed my third hole of the day so I was panicking a little bit, but just tried to stay really patient out there and tried to give myself a lot of opportunities, which we did, which is really exciting. Had a lot of good looks.

I just played the par-5s really well. Birdied all of them and eagled the last one, so I feel like everything was going pretty well today and I'm excited to tee it up tomorrow.

Q. Walk us through the eagle on the last.

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I could reach the green in two. Just tried to put a really good swing on it and ended up hitting it to about a foot, foot and a half away. Really nice way to finish the round, finish the day; makes everything feel a lot better.

And then just go into tomorrow hopefully keeping that momentum.

Q. You're obviously a past champion of this event so you kind of know your way around this property a little bit. What's your relationship with this golf course and how do you in such a quirky venue?

BROOKE HENDERSON: I think it's really nice to have played here as many times as I have. There have been a few changes this year so just trying to get used to those ones.

Just overall strategy of this place I feel like has worked really well for me in the past so it gives me some confidence going into each round.

But you never know what's going to happen here. You just try to stick to your strategy the best you can and try to get it under par.

Q. I know it's Ryan's first time here. What have you had to tell him, explain about this property or warn him a about ahead of time?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, he was playing on the video game all last week so he got a good feel for it there, which was awesome. But, yeah, I just tried to like on each hole just try to explain some things that he should keep an eye out for or look for.

But he's been doing awesome, and I feel like we made a good team.

Q. Have to ask, in the off week did you go get baby snuggles from Miss Sahalee?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yes, I got to spend so much time with my sister, brother-in-law, and my niece. It was amazing. She's so sweet. I love her so much.

Q. Any stories from the first day? How are Dave and Darlene doing as grandparents? Brit and Zach doing as mom and dad?

BROOKE HENDERSON: I think everybody is ten out of ten. Everybody is super happy, and, yeah, just enjoying her so much. Just trying to make sure that she's well taken care of. She's just so cute and I just love spending time with everybody.

Q. Obviously got off to a really good start in the last couple majors. What's shifted for you maybe in majors or how good does it feel to start so strong at KPMG and now Evian?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, feels so great to be able to start strong at majors. They're always weeks you want to play really well for, so it's important to me to start strong.

Doesn't always happen, so when it does, you're always grateful and always makes you happy. Hopefully just continue that trend tomorrow.

But I feel like the game is in a really good spot. I'm really happy and excited about that. I feel like it's shifted my mindset and really made a huge difference. Just going to keep pushing forward.

Q. Sorry, got to follow up on that. What's been the mindset shift, if you don't mind sharing?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, my mindset has not been that great the last couple years, so just continuing work in progress I guess.

I feel I'm really close to being really good again and I feel like that's really exciting.

Q. How much does the new baby help with that mindset?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Honestly, yeah, so much. I feel like off the course my life is really great, so I feel like it's starting to come over into on the course, too, which is really awesome.

Q. We talked earlier with Anna Huang. I don't know how much you know her and how well she's playing here. Are you impressed by that?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, she's been playing awesome. I'm really impressed with her game. I was able to play a practice round with her a couple weeks ago, which was really cool, but it's also cool to see her in so many great events.

I think she's in all the majors this year which is pretty sweet. Yeah, she's been playing great and it's nice to see her out here.
