Quick Quotes
Q. Light conditions for Scottish weather today. What were the challenges out there and how do you feel?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, I think the golf course is still challenging. It's definitely a tough test, and today is the best condition we're going to see all weekend. It flips tomorrow, and so we'll get a totally different direction the next three days. Off to a good start, so in a good spot after the final round.
Q. Do you alter anything in your game when you come to Scotland?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I have a putter that's a little heavier. The greens are slow this week, and they will be slow next week, as well. Just helps me get the ball in the hole.
Q. You have a couple top 20s in the last three starts. Do you feel your game is starting to trend in a positive direction?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Definitely. I've been putting in some hard work with my team, and have got some important golf the rest of the year. Keep that momentum going.
Q. Bogey-free 65 to start your tournament here. How pleased are you with your day's work?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Very pleased. Off to a good start. Conditions were benign compared to what we'll see the next three days but nice to get off to a good start and feeling good about my game.
Q. A couple of top 20s, what do you feel is trending in the right direction?
PATRICK CANTLAY: I think everything is coming around. I feel like I've been close for a little while now and get a few putts to go in, get some momentum going, it should be good.
Q. Two weeks of links golf for everyone coming up, what is it you enjoy most about this test and what brings the best out of your game?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, I think it makes you hit a few more different shots. You've got to flight the golf ball and really be precise with your numbers. You can roll balls up on to the green and play different shots around the green. It's just being creative and getting a good picture in your mind before you go out execute.
Q. Two good days of weather, looks like it might change going into tomorrow. What does the rest of the afternoon look like for yourself and is there relaxation ahead of tomorrow's round?
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, I'll get a little rest. Still trying to get on the right time zone.
