Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Ronni Yin after her first round here at the Amundi Evian Championship. Really solid 4-under from you today -- 5-under?
RUONING YIN: 4.
Q. 4-under from you today. Take us through the round. What worked well?
RUONING YIN: I think today I executed very well and I just -- I only missed two fairways and four greens. But all those misses were like on the fringe, so not really a miss.
I think I just hit it really well and then I made a couple long putts.
Q. You told me at the Kroger Queen City championship that you were only focusing on the upcoming majors. How has that shifted your practice and mentality of these last couple events and the upcoming ones?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, 100%. I think I just found that playing major is exhausting. Yeah, after U.S. Open I was -- I got sick a little bit and then after KPMG my brain just didn't work.
I just think that playing major you have to be really smart and then no matter physically or mentally, just going to be tired. So that's the reason why I don't -- I'm not planning on playing any tournaments between that.
So, yeah.
On preparation, I think just I can focus more on the course. Yeah, before KPMG I watched highlights in 2019 to learn the course, and then for the Evian course, I played here -- this is my third time here, so I kind of know the course so I can prepare well.
Q. You've had some good finishes the last couple majors. Been playing pretty well in some of the majors. What's it going to take the rest of the week to battle the heat and the elements and all that at the Amundi Evian Championship?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, I think the weather should be fine because Dallas is way hotter than here. This course I think I need to do better job on the par-5s. I didn't make one birdie today on the par-5s, so definitely going work on that.
And then I'll just keep everything else the same.
