THE MODERATOR: Here with the 2026 overall champion of the U.S. Adaptive Open, Kim Moore. How does it feel to be the winner again?
KIM MOORE: Awesome. I mean, that's my goal coming in here, and being able to achieve my goal was definitely challenging. There was a few holes, few shots out there, but in the end doesn't matter. It's all about how you finish.
Just glad to be hoisting the trophy again. Looking forward to another USGA Championship hopefully.
Q. Your third win; second in a row. Did you feel any pressure heading into this week?
KIM MOORE: I mean, I guess pressure is given to you by other people. But, yeah, I mean, there is always a little nerves going out there. I'm nervous any time I play golf. Any time I'm playing competitively, you know, I want to do well and I want to do well for myself.
So, yeah, you definitely have those jitters and nerves. At times it's more nerves when you aren't playing the best or not hitting the best shots. Trying to get past that; that's always toughest for me.
But, you know, pressure is something that is earned and I'm glad to have that pressure.
Q. Looking forward to next year, do you have any sort of new goals or what can we expect from you next year, do you think?
KIM MOORE: Oh, I hope to do well again. I would love to go lower. I'm glad that I was at least consistent, but, you know, there was definitely shots out there that I left each round.
But would love to, again, compete and do my best and represent the adaptive golf community to the best of my ability and be out there, and hopefully, you know, Oregon will be a great place, too.
Q. One question: I noticed this year looked like you moved from Michigan to Indiana. Are you doing more teaching and less coaching? What prompted that life change?
KIM MOORE: Yeah, so I moved about a year ago back to Fort Wayne where I'm from. Decided to teach full time as an PGA professional.
I got my Class A PGA professional certification in 2012, so I wanted to utilize it a little bit more. Being back at home was a great place. You know, I'm very familiar with the area. And so, yeah, that's kind of why I'm back.
Q. That's great. Are you mostly teaching adaptive golfers and everybody, anybody that wants to come to you?
KIM MOORE: Yeah, exactly. Anyone that wants to come to me. Junior golf, adults, adaptive players. I've done a number of different types, so all the way from beginners to advanced players. Yeah, it's just trying to grow that business and trying to grow that clientele.
But, yeah, I have been doing many different types of players and skill levels.
Q. Thank you. Enjoy the celebration.
KIM MOORE: Thank you.
