U.S. ADAPTIVE OPEN

July 8, 2026

Bailey Bish

Rockville, Maryland, USA

Woodmont Country Club (South Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Bailey Bish, tied for second overall and leading her impairment category. Bailey, just talk us through your round today.

BAILEY BISH: Yeah, it was rough out there. I started out hole one with two shanks. Just off to the right. Rough way to start.

Second hole I hit a drive in on the right rough which was tough; managed to save a par there.

And then from there I just kind of got in my groove and kept playing my game. Didn't think about the past anymore, and one shot at a time worked my way in.

Q. I know you were playing with Cassie, who you were also vying for with the impairment category. I mean, did that impact your mindset at all or anything like that?

BAILEY BISH: No. I play my game one stoke at time. I don't think about anybody else's score or even what my score is. I just think about hitting my next shot and whatever the score is at the end of the round, that's what it is.

Q. Obviously you have been to the Adaptive Open many times before, but could you sum up your week here in Maryland at Woodmont?

BAILEY BISH: As always, the USGA has done an incredible job hosting this event. They really think of everything accessibility-wise and just the needs of the players that are unique, individuals with disabilities.

The course is beautiful. The Woodmont staff are just incredible. They take first class care of us and it's really been a special week.

Q. You mentioned you might be looking to study a future in accessibility training. Can you give a little more color on that?

BAILEY BISH: Yeah, I would love to get into accessibility consulting and helping organizations and facilities design their facilities in a way that is accessible to people with disabilities.

I'm a wheelchair user and all the time I run into places where there is a big lip in parking lots there or there is no access aisle in parking lots, and things like that really make a difference to people with disabilities that you might not understand if you didn't have one yourself or knew of somebody who has one.
