Quick Quotes
Q. Brendan Lawlor here. 4-under 68 today; 7-under for the championship. Brendan, seven birdies today.
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah.
Q. Can you just talk us through the round?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, it was kind of a free day for me. I could go out and try and make birdies. When you try to do that it's easy to make bogeys, when you're playing aggressive. That's what I kind of felt the front nine. Was over-hitting putts. I had one or two three-putts.
But played really solid today. As I said in the interview, I put a bit of pressure on myself this week, especially around the greens. I didn't feel I had my best game. The last nine holes I really let loose and just eased into the golf.
So it came a wee bit late, but definitely something to learn from and go get it next year.
Q. That back nine, 32. Just kind of talk us through a little bit -- was it three birdies in a row?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, I birdied 11, 12, and 13, three nice birdies; tough stretch of the course.
Then I missed short putt on 16.
17 good two putt.
Holed a nice putt for birdie on 18.
So it's nice. Golf is in there. It was nice to show what I had the last couple holes.
Q. I know you've won your impairment category in the past. What does it mean to come out on top again today?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, like I knew I was pretty far back today. I knew Kipp was going to go out and shoot a number, which what he's doing right now is quite spectacular.
So my goal was to win my category again. My goal is to be back here next year, and that's a golden ticket back if you win your category. I'm proud of that. To be the best short-stature playing in the world, it's definitely the best players in the world here, so it's a nice honor.
Q. You mentioned you got some travel coming up. What does the next couple weeks look like?
BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, quite busy. I'm going to The Open so doing a wee bit of work with the R&A. Playing in the Heros Classic there as well. Playing with Jordan Spieth and Harrington, so should be fun. I fly over to Scotland and do the pro-am at the Seniors Open, and then I play the pro-am at the Ladies Open as well. So it's a busy couple of weeks.
