Woodmont Country Club (South Course)
Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Rose Veldman. Congratulations on winning your category once again. Do you want to just talk about how this week went for you, Rose.
ROSE VELDMAN: Of course. Well, I didn't play my best this week. There was a lot of challenges. I love Woodmont, and thank you to all the Woodmont people that helped put this event on, but it's a hard course. I tried my best and that's what I did, came out there and played.
Q. Coming into this championship, did you have any sort of goals or expectations on yourself?
ROSE VELDMAN: Yeah, my goal was to win my category, and next year I want to win it all.
Q. Amazing. Coming into this championship, I think you're a true inspiration to many people. Have you had any really fun moments that stand out this week?
ROSE VELDMAN: Yeah, just seeing everybody who have like a disability. Obviously we all have a disability. We're playing in the U.S. Adaptive Open. But seeing everybody just go out there and do their best. Like Kim Moore, she's-1 under for the day or how many under for the day. She's incredible.
Like Bailey who has trouble standing and walking is just like hitting the crap out of the ball. Amanda, one-armed hitter. Incredible. Wait, Amanda is the blind hitter. Incredible. Abigail, one-arm hitter. Incredible. Everybody is so incredible and I'm just so happy to be here.
Q. Looking into next year, what are you looking forward to most and what are some of your expectations? I know you said winning overall, but anything else?
ROSE VELDMAN: Well, what I'm looking forward to next year most is seeing everybody again. We're all one big family and we wouldn't be here without supporting each other and without the lovely people who put this event on every time.
I would love to thank USGA for having a sport that people like me and play in.
