Quick Quotes
Q. We are here with Annie Hayes. Annie, just talk a little bit about that eagle on the 3rd hole.
ANNIE HAYES: Well, I hit a really good drive, a good second shot. So I was down in a good spot. A little bit of a side lie, but I knew I needed to play it off the bank, so that's what I did. I just hit the shot, and it went in.
Q. What club did you use?
ANNIE HAYES: I think I used a 9.
Q. Have you had an eagle in competition before?
ANNIE HAYES: I have never had an eagle, even not in competition.
Q. That eagle is obviously now on Golf Channel and it's online. You are the only female seated player here. When other women, girls see that, what do you hope they take out of it so that years from now you're not the only one in this?
ANNIE HAYES: I think they should play the game because you can do it and you can be good. You can be very respectable as a seated player. You don't have to give it up.
Q. You're a veteran of the Adaptive Open. What do you most look forward to this week every year now?
ANNIE HAYES: I just like the competition and the people, the players that I play with and all the people that help out and that I know now. It's like a lot of friends and family.
Q. This is our second year here at Woodmont. Some people don't know much about it. Talk a little about the golf course and why it suits so well for this event.
ANNIE HAYES: One of the things is you can get into all the traps, which I'm not very good at getting out of (laughter), but I can drive my cart in there.
The facilities are extremely accessible. Everybody's helpful. People open doors. The course, there's no problems. There's no real steep hills or anything like that.
And the way the USGA has set up the rules, they make it so that you can play the game in a fair way even when you're playing from a cart because there's a lot of exceptions that they have to make for us because our cart is so big.
