U.S. ADAPTIVE OPEN

July 6, 2026

Justin Carlock

Rockville, Maryland, USA

Woodmont Country Club (South Course)

Flash

THE MODERATOR: All right, we are here with Justin Carlock; 4-under 68. Talk about your first round at the U.S. Adaptive Open.

JUSTIN CARLOCK: It was unbelievable. This golf course, I just want to start by giving credit to the team here and the golf course itself. It's absolutely so special for all of us to be here. I'm sure I speak for a lot of us being able to be here this week.

Q. You were just talking a little bit about this; going to have you repeat. Your first adaptive golf event was the qualifier for this.

JUSTIN CARLOCK: Yep, yep. So the qualifier out in Goose Creek at the beginning of May. Was playing pretty good. I know that when you win those qualifiers you get a guaranteed spot, and I made a triple bogey on my last hole to lose that spot to Mario Dino playing today. He's so good; well-deserved for him.

Yeah, so we were hanging on hoping we were going to get in, and here we are.

Q. What inspired you to sign up for that qualifier?

JUSTIN CARLOCK: Man, so my caddie and best friend, Brock, he's here with me this week. We found out about this a few years ago when it was at Sand Creek Station. I played a big college tournament there and I realized kind of what they were hosting when the Adaptive Open was there. I was like, how cool is that?

So I kicked it down the road. Wonder if I could get certified to get into that, and didn't really do it. This last fall he's like, you need to get it in gear. Like let's go. We ended up kind of getting certified and qualified and here we are.

Q. Back to today's round, talk us through maybe a couple highlights since we weren't out there.

JUSTIN CARLOCK: I think today, gosh, the whole round was pretty solid. Only one bad swing, and that bad swing did lead to a double on 17. Hit it in the bunker and kind of got stuck in there.

Everything else, it was pretty driver, excuse me, into the fairway, and then a lot of greens. Yeah, couple missed opportunities, but better rounds I think are a little bit easier to pick apart.

It was very solid. I was really happy with it. Two more of those, I wouldn't complain no matter how it ends up.

THE MODERATOR: Great playing today and good luck tomorrow.

JUSTIN CARLOCK: Thank you so much.
