U.S. ADAPTIVE OPEN

July 5, 2026

Tommy Morrissey

Rockville, Maryland, USA

Woodmont Country Club (South Course)

Press Conference

Q. Tommy Morrissey, you're the youngest ever competitor here at the U.S. Adaptive Open. How does that make you feel and what does it mean to you?

TOMMY MORRISSEY: I mean, this means so much to me. I knew about the U.S. Adaptive Open when I was seven and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. To make it at such a young age, and especially qualifying for it my first attempt means a lot.

My dad training me for the past five months leading up to it, it was definitely really hard. It was a lot. But I'm just glad that it all paid off and really appreciate my dad for helping me do it.

Q. Yeah. You've been practicing with some of the more seasoned competitors over the last couple days. Have you taken anything from them and what have you learned? What has it meant to kind of play with them?

TOMMY MORRISSEY: Yeah, being with the guys that do social media, I'm in the social media world, so learning from them about this courses, about the tournament and how to deal with pressure, it really helps a lot. I feel like I'm a part of them and part of the family really, so it takes off a lot of nerves.

I know that it'll translate to the course tomorrow and to the main tournament, so I'm ready to deal with the pressure.

Q. Yeah. You mentioned the course. How is your game at the moment and how do you feel it suits the course?

TOMMY MORRISSEY: I don't want to jinx it too much, but definitely feeling good going into the week. Can definitely trust off the tee, the irons are feeling good, and hopefully the putter will be really good.

Hopefully I'll give myself a good run to make it to Wednesday.

Q. Any particular areas of the game that you're really focused on with this course?

TOMMY MORRISSEY: Definitely the driver. You got to be in play off the tee. The fescue is pretty tall and it's hard to get out of it, but driver feels -- I'm really confident with it. Just got work on the putter now.

Q. Adaptive golf has obviously come a long way. There is a chance that it might make it into the Paralympics in 2032 in Brisbane. I guess what does that mean to you and what do you think that would mean for the sport of adaptive golf?

TOMMY MORRISSEY: I mean, might as well set a goal to make that already. That sounds really cool. To be part of the Olympics would be a great milestone for me. Always been a dream so hopefully I'll be a part of it.

I think it's really cool for adaptive golf, overall adaptive sport. That's just not really something normal that people look at and it's great to put that into the world.

Q. And seems you have familiar face on your bag this week. Tell us a little bit about your caddie and the relationship you all have.

TOMMY MORRISSEY: Yeah, so I got my boy, Clint Lewis from Jupiter, Florida. He is one of my best friends, probably my best friend. We go to the same school. We play golf a lot. I feel really confident in him and we're just going to have fun out there, enjoy the experience, take it all in, and make memories throughout the week.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you very much. Best of luck.

TOMMY MORRISSEY: Thank you.
