Quick Quotes
Q. All right, you finished out your back nine today with a few birdies back-to-back from a bit of a slower start. Tell me about some of those, some of the birdies.
RYAN ARMOUR: Really good shot into two about 12 feet underneath the hole; make that.
Three, missed short one.
Four, made a long putt. Made like a 24-footer just trying to hit in the middle of green there and putted to the corner; made a good 7-iron; nice putt.
Five was probably the best; get up and down for par. I short-sided myself there and got it up and down.
And then six was par-5, 5-wood into the front bunker; hit it up there to about six feet and made that.
Seven, eight, bogeyed eight.
And then nine I hit in there about three feet and made that.
So the back nine, or, I mean, my back nine, which was the front, I saw a lot better shots than I saw starting out. Still, for me, I'm missing way too many fairways, which it isn't my game. I'm missing way too many around here and they're kind of wide, so I have a lot of work to do.
Q. Bogeyed 6 yesterday and birdied it today. What adjustments did you make that led to that shot?
RYAN ARMOUR: I was just patient. I've tried to hit it too hard, got behind a tree, and today I just played it out far to the right and just hit a little longer club in.
Just being a patient 50 year old.
Q. While it was a little cooler that morning, the heat is still very much here today.
RYAN ARMOUR: Uh-huh.
Q. Because of that, has the course played any differently than it has in previous days, do you think?
RYAN ARMOUR: It was strange. There were some greens that were firm the first day, and you can tell that they syringed them overnight. Where I was expecting a bounce and didn't get them. Then others where I was expecting to not get a bounce and I got a bounce.
So you can tell they're being careful with the heat on the greens.
Q. What is your strategy to stay mentally locked in overnight?
RYAN ARMOUR: Oh, I'll just hydrate and watch soccer, watch Duval, eat some dinner. I'll be fine.
Q. Yeah. Toward the end what challenges do you think the leaders are going to face as they round out their play today?
RYAN ARMOUR: Hole locations. The hole locations coming in are really, really good. 14 -- or not 14; 14 is a joke; long par-3.
But 15, 16, 18, are really, really good hole locations and you got to really make sure you're on the correct side, don't get past the holes, and you'll have -- I mean, they're tough lag putts, too, so that's where they're going to struggle.
