Q. Birdies at 7 and 10 today; can you walk us through those or anything remarkable during your round?

JAMIE DONALDSON: There was a lot of good putting early on to keep -- I was level par, really, for the first six holes. A lot of good scrambling there.

I birdied 7 -- what's the 7th? Yeah, good shot in and then good putt, 10 feet.

Then what was the next birdie?

JAMIE DONALDSON: Too hot, isn't it. Yeah, 10, a really good shot in there to about three feet. It was a 9-iron again to about three feet.

Q. Medalist at your qualifying site; what were your expectations coming into the tournament? This is your first Senior Open.

JAMIE DONALDSON: Well, I played absolutely dreadful in practice, so I was quite happy to start to play a bit of good golf out there. It was nice. But it's a good golf course. You've got to hit fairways. If you don't hit fairways out there you can get in trouble.

In practice I didn't hit many. The tournament I've been a lot better. So yeah, happy. If we get a bit better tomorrow, never know, maybe we can get a low one going.
