Quick Quotes
Q. Lucas, you've obviously been in this position before. What's it like to be atop the leaderboard heading into the final round? How do you handle all of that from a mental aspect?
LUCAS GLOVER: I'd say it's probably a little different given that you pretty much know you've got to go low or you're not going to win.
So, you know, other tournaments, courses, whatever, or even here, first couple of days on the green weren't this soft. Might could have played a little conservative. They're not going to be that tomorrow.
Everybody is going to have to be aggressive, so I've got to hit it a little better tomorrow to achieve the ultimate goal.
Q. Especially with that morning weather, expectations for scores were going to go low and then that eagle for you on 2. Jury might have been sent out early that you could have run away with it. What kind of kept that score --
LUCAS GLOVER: I didn't hit it in the fairway enough to make a bunch of birdies, and then when I did, I didn't hit it close. Then the few times I did hit it close, I didn't make it. I just had kind of an off day.
Go work on it this evening and be ready tomorrow to fight and get back on track.
Q. Were you surprised the rest of the field, especially top of the leaderboard, didn't score relatively low with those expectations?
LUCAS GLOVER: I saw a bunch of 65s and 66s up there. That's pretty low. I don't know. I just got done. I hadn't seen the board.
Yeah, I mean, 4-, 5-, 6-under is still pretty low, especially on a Saturday at a PGA TOUR event, so yeah.
Q. In your estimation, how did the course handle the weather last night? Did it play substantially differently than Thursday or Friday?
LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah. Fairways weren't going quite as fast. Greens were a little softer. When they expect weather, they put the pins kind of on some high spots. It was hard to get did close and keep it close, for me anyway.
I did a poor job of adjusting to the green speed. They were slower today, and I saw a lot of putts mainly from myself and the last group just kind of crawling up there. Similar to what I did on 18. Just not really even giving it a chance. I didn't adjust. I didn't adjust properly. That's on me.
Golf course is holding up great. The fairways are perfect. I didn't see much mud. I'm not saying we shouldn't have played lift, clean, and place, but we probably didn't have to. That's how good the golf course is holding up.
I know they were protecting us in case it got really bad. The golf course is holding up beautifully. Minimal mud balls and no puddles. It was beautiful.
Q. Were the pin placements a little trickier today. It seemed like there were a lot of edges being burned?
LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, like I said, I think it was high spots when they expect weather. The back of 10 is a high spot. Middle right of is 11 a high spot. Back of 12 is a high spot.
Yeah, there's a lot of this on the high spots. Again, to protect us in case we get bad weather, so the greens don't pool up. So, yeah, that could have played a part.
I only saw what my group did and a couple of putts this morning when I was working out. Yeah, I found it hard to keep it close on the wedges and stuff because of the spin, but I didn't have that many out of the fairway to worry about it, to be honest with you. Going to work on that now.
Q. Looking at a shoot-out tomorrow, you probably could have expected that on Thursday. What's your mentality going forward?
LUCAS GLOVER: I could have expected that last --
Q. A shoot-out I mean.
LUCAS GLOVER: -- last Monday when we left here. It's always a shoot-out here. That's the way it should be. It's fun. It's exciting.
Yeah, I told you guys when I finished Thursday, I was going to need three more of those, so yeah.
Q. We got a leaderboard pack with red, white, and blue flags. That seems appropriate for 250.
LUCAS GLOVER: Again, I didn't see anything. As you know, I just got done. I don't know who is where.
