Q. Five birdies today. Anything going well for you particularly out there?

JEFF MAGGERT: A lot of good shots, a lot of bad shots. That's all I can say. It was -- five birdies on a course like this, I was a little disappointed, to be honest with you. Just I missed -- I just hit some awful shots today and missed three or four putts, those were my bogeys.

Other than that, I played probably better yesterday than I did this morning. I happened to hit a lot of shots close to the hole. Par-3s, I played great. Hit a lot of shots that were tap-in birdies, and a couple of other holes.

It's a U.S. Open course, fairways and greens. I was trying to get it into red figures for the tournament and try to get 1- or 2-under going into the weekend, but even par is a good place to be sitting at.

I don't think anyone is going to be able to run away with it today the way the course is playing.

Q. Yeah. Does that play into your experience with the event?

JEFF MAGGERT: I'll tell you, 13 years out here, my golf ball doesn't go as far as it used to. These younger guys, 50-year-old babies, there's a lot of them that can really pound the ball. It's an advantage on this course. The fairways are super wide. They're twice as wide as what they used to be. It really plays into those guys' hands.

A guy like me that hits a lot of fairways anyway, it would be nice to see the old stuff, 25-, 30-yard fairways. Some of these fairways are 50 yards wide this year.

Q. Building on that, did the course play any differently for you today compared to yesterday?

JEFF MAGGERT: It played a little softer. Obviously it was the morning. The greens were more receptive. Thought the golf course was getting pretty -- any firmness in the afternoon (indiscernible) the ball, you're playing front edge of the greens and letting it bounce into the pins. Today you could be a little more aggressive with the irons.
