Quick Quotes

Q. Brooke Henderson is with us now at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Brooke, just your thoughts on your finish this week.

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I'm really happy. I feel like I'm back in better form. I feel like I'm close to being really good again which is really exciting.

So happy to get a Top 3 in a major. Makes the whole season feel a little bit better, and also feel like gives me a lot of confidence, momentum going into the rest of the year, which my next two events are also majors. Hopefully I can carry that forward.

But Haeran played amazing and happy to see her win.

Q. What in particular do you think it was the difference this week?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Few things. Definitely ball striking. My swing felt a lot better. I was hitting a lot of greens and giving myself a lot of good birdie looks, which is always the goal. It was nice to have that happen.

And then just like mentally I was just in a better spot. I was excited to play and I felt like I -- when I was in a jam I got out of it pretty quick, where previous tournaments this year when I'm in a jam then I kind of keep going.

So it was nice to kind of rebound quickly and when I was playing well to keep it going.

Q. You said a mentally better spot. How much of that has to do with your sister? Did you talk to her at all this morning?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I did. I feel like it's just a really exciting time for my family right now. God is amazing. Really grateful that my niece is healthy and my sister is doing really well and I'm continuing to improve too. It's great all around.

Q. I have a couple questions from our friend Adam Stanley. I'm sure you knew he was going to send some. In a season where you said your work hard on ball striking and consistency, how do you feel after building nice momentum this week on that?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, feels great. I mean, hopefully I can continue this trend and continue to improve and get the ball striking in a good spot. Overall this week I hit it really well, and like I said, just gave myself a ton of opportunities, and that's really exciting.

I feel like I could have easily been a few shots better, but at the same time, I'm not going to be greedy because I'm really thankful for a good week.

Q. Talk about the mental game, too. Obviously awesome things happened thing week off the golf course. Was there any moment that you were like, you know, I played very well because of this or something like that, you connected the mental game to this week?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, for sure. Even early on Thursday I was on a high because she was born Thursday morning. Couple times I was in a rough spot and I was like, it's okay. Life is good. And it just kind of helped me, and then I was able to birdie and get it under par after that.

So I feel like mentally having kind of great weeks like this is really exciting. Yeah, looking forward to continuing good momentum. There is a lot of golf to be played this year, and hopefully I'll be a lot more final groups.

Q. Are you going to get to see her this week?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I am. I'm flying out tomorrow so I'm excited.

Q. You birdied 9 and 10 and you had played the back nine as well, I think the best of anyone this week. Were you surprised and a little disappointed that you didn't carry the momentum into that?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I was playing well. Felt like I didn't get the breaks that you need to win. For example, like 11 I was like two yards from being a birdie putt stayed I had to putt out the huge ridge.

Then 14 it was really bizarre. I don't know if somebody stepped on my ball or something, but it was sitting really, really deep in the rough where I hadn't seen that all week.

Again, just got a poor lie there. I feel like there was just a couple things when you're meant to win those turn out slightly differently.

But that's okay. I feel like to make bogey on 14 after the mess I made, I was really proud of that. Unfortunately I would've liked to get a few more shots coming in to kind of put a little bit more pressure on her, but the way it was I just feel like I played solid and I'm happy.
