Quick Quotes
Q. Dewi Weber is with us at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Dewi, quite the week for you. How would you summarize things?
DEWI WEBER: I mean, this was a great week. I'm not sure how else I could summarize it. I'm pretty annoyed about the last putt but like, that was awesome.
Like not just the score. I think I just felt really good out there. Playing free golf, playing good golf, great ball striking.
I holed a lot of the putts, too. I have very, very few complaints about this week, so, yeah.
Q. So how much is this a confirmation that the new way is the way, no? And what do you need to do to keep playing like this? Not the results but the attitude, no?
DEWI WEBER: Yeah, I think I told you this two days ago I think for me, I've talked to so many people and I'm not just saying like coaches or whatever, but just friends in life about the things that I was feeling.
I think I heard the same message over and over again. For some reason I was stubborn enough to go, no, we're not doing that, we're doing something else. The last two weeks honestly I gave the opposite mindset a bit after shot, and I mean, this is where we are right now, in the Top 5 in a major.
So I think that is plenty of confirmation.
As to your question, how I keep this going, it's not easy, but like for me there is a very clear path of how I got here and how I got swing freely and accept that the wind is going to gust and sometimes we hit a 5-iron flush and we think it's going land next to the pin but instead we're by the tower. That's just the way it's going to go.
Then we accept and move on and we hit another shot. Yeah, that's just what we do. So not simple but for me I think I found a way to do it.
Q. This is the best finish in a major for any player from the Netherlands. What does that mean to you?
DEWI WEBER: It's very cool. It's cool to like make history if you will. So, yeah, that means a lot to me. I don't think I fully processed what's happened this week. I think I need like a few hours for that and like how I did that.
But, yeah, no, very cool.
Q. It's a big paycheck, too. Does that change life in any way?
DEWI WEBER: Sort of. It takes a lot of stress off of my life. I don't think we'll be making any like super big purchases or whatever. I think life just kind of moves on.
Yeah, it takes some stress -- honestly a lot of stress away from my life. Absolutely. So in that way it's life changing, but it's not like -- man, we live in LA. Everything is expensive. My wife and I joke that I have to win this tournament like three times in order to afford a house where we live.
So yeah, life changing in the sense that I can go through life a bit more stress-free. Of course with our little one coming in December, this helps a ton.
But, yeah, we will still be living the same life, probably living in the same townhomes that we live in. Like everything will just remain the same.
Q. Can by a lot of diapers now?
DEWI WEBER: That's what Mel said, too, exactly.
Q. Are you a scoreboard watcher? If so, did you know what was going on? I think it was four birdies in six holes down the stretch. Did you know how close you were getting?
DEWI WEBER: Yeah, I watched the scoreboard, but honestly, I made an eagle on seven and then I accidentally looked at the scoreboard on eight more so to see if it was me or Alison who had to hit. That was a mistake.
I freaked out a little bit internally, and from that moment forward I was just like let's just not look at that thing anymore and just focus on what we have like right here in front of us.
The only time I looked again was on 18 to see how well we had to play that hole to have a shot.
Q. For the roommates that really look up to you, what advice would you give them to do what you're doing right now?
DEWI WEBER: Honestly, I think you guys are like one of my best friends out here. Talking with you guys helps a lot. Helps me personally a lot because I think we all kind of go through the same struggles. Talking it through helps me see maybe different perspectives.
Yeah, I think that is it. Getting different perspectives, and then dang, like hitting shots, not thinking about where the shot might end up. There is literally 100 different possibilities. It's really nice.
Q. I bet it's nice to play good golf.
DEWI WEBER: Also that. So, yeah, that.
Q. Congrats.
DEWI WEBER: Thank you.
Q. What drinks are we having tonight?
DEWI WEBER: Whatever you guys want. Whatever you guys want.
Q. We'll surprise you.
DEWI WEBER: Deal.
