Quick Quotes
THE MODERATOR: We're joined by Brooke Henderson here at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. How do you feel after your round today?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I'm really happy with how the round went today. Nice to get it under par and climb the leaderboard a little bit.
It was very windy, a lot different, and I would say tougher conditions than the first two rounds.
Yeah, it was nice to hit a lot of greens, a lot of fairways and give myself a lot of good birdie looks.
Would have been nice maybe to capitalize on a few more, but definitely happy with where I'm at, and excited for tomorrow.
Q. Do you feel something special is happening here this week, and what is it?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it's been an awesome week. Honestly, I think it's just all thanks to my niece coming into this world. I've just been really happy.
I've been working really hard on myself and also my game coming into this week, so I feel like it's nice to see it pay off a bit.
But yeah, thanks to my niece, I feel like we're riding good energy, and I'm just looking forward to the opportunity tomorrow to hopefully post a good round and just see what happens.
Q. When you say "working on yourself," what is that new Brooke on the golf course?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, just trying to get better every day in every way I can. Just trying to make those improvements, and sometimes they're tough and sometimes they're easy, but it's just really nice to see the progress.
Q. Nelly mentioned on 16 the wind kind of affected either the putt or her confidence in the putt. I was wondering, how much did you notice the wind affecting putts?
BROOKE HENDERSON: It was really windy today. It was affecting everything. On 16, I thought the wind was going to push it, so I thought the putt was going to be faster, but I ended up coming up short. I feel like it was just hard to judge all day.
But overall I feel like Ryan and I, we did a good job. I'm not sure what it's going to be tomorrow, but I feel like this course kind of showed how tough it was today.
Q. What was Ryan's job before he took this one?
BROOKE HENDERSON: He was into, like, renovations, so carpenter and anything like that. He was really good at it, and I'm sure he'll go back to it at some point, but I'm just really grateful that he's on the bag, and he's going to be with me until probably the end of my career.
Q. Was there anything you can point to where you guys really started to gel, a time or a decision?
BROOKE HENDERSON: This week?
Q. No, it could be earlier.
BROOKE HENDERSON: Well, we grew up playing golf together, so we've always known each other really well, on the course and off. I feel like it's been a really smooth transition, him coming out to caddie. He understands the game well, and he knows what I need, which I think is really key.
Just anything that I need from him, he's like right there and willing to help. I feel like it's been a really good partnership so far, and obviously this week it's been going great, so hopefully just another good day tomorrow, and I'm excited to continue working with him.
Q. I know your sister has a lot on her plate right now, but is she watching? Do you know if -- is she reaching out about this event, too?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, she is. She's doing it all basically. She always does. But yeah, she's keeping an eye on me and making sure I'm in a good spot, too. Just so supportive and always there for me.
Q. Being in the final group tomorrow, do you feel like that's one of your favorite places to be heading into the final round of a major championship?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Definitely. I think everyone in this field, that's where they wanted to be starting Sunday was in that final group. It was a lot of fun for me to play in the final group today. It's been a little while, since I guess Canada, since I was in a final group.
It was just a lot of fun and good energy, and I'm excited that I was able to put myself back in that position for tomorrow.
